Trade post - how to setup?
Hey there.
Now , im at the point when city is protected by 8 well trained turret guards and they can deal with all dangers , but high men cannibal raids.

Also , i have hydrophinics tech ,and I plan to set up an automatic shop , where I will sell food and meds.
Idea is to buy 2 buildings , where I will grow up 3 ressources and produce food-meds , and another to sell item.

I read , that those two categories are the most universal.HOWEVER...I build a "Store" building an put there bread , meds long ago and 0 sales since then.Inside the city , is you ask.
The question is- WTF?...Am I doing something wrong?Cause no point in setting up my trading posts , if auto-trade doesnt work :(

some people might have success in selling things this way but i never did..

if you want to sell something you need to go to a trader and do it yourself.. i too would like them to just come and buy your things.

as it stands even if you make it work it will not give you the kind of profits you get when selling manually..

you could try the Mod "more population" ,basically the mod add citizens that live in the city and buy more things often,smith buy raw resources from you and craft his weapons,people buy food drinks etc,with this mod everything is sellable trought the shop counter,in vanilla only trade items are sellable(alcohol etc,no weapons armor) ( i don't know if the word sellable exist but...well you understand)

Make sure your store building (and base; if store building is in base) is NOT set to private!
the Trading Ai is still borked.

Buiding is open , public , bla bla bla , all is set up as supposed to be.
Also , I setted up this mod , especially to run a trade.

But...yes , no trade.
Well the fun part is - "Making purchaise" as a goal for AI is displayed , and ppl come into the shop ,but , thats it

The NPCs actually have their own money, and call only buy what they can afford. I've seen them buying stuff in past updates, and apparently they gain a certain amount of money each day to spend.

When it used to work it was nice for ambiance, but running a storefront was never about making money.

Its mostely food and medkits that will be sold, and typically the cheapest stuff like dried meat and small medkits will sell the most. Occasionally grog, rum and other alcoholic drinks would sell when a caravan came through town, but much of the time you'd see the good ol' "I can't afford that item" from NPCs visiting your shop because they want to buy the more expensive stuff but typically have less than 1k cats on them.

I'll be happy when the trading AI is fixed and working again so I can start putting small storefronts in towns again (can do it now but there is no point unless you want 40+ people stuck standing inside your building for days at a time). The money was never worth it, but it was nice seeing large caravans comig in to town and people wandering around from shop to shop. It helped make cities feel more alive.
