Gutters are no joke.
But they're worthless if you have like 20 and up combat stats and only send 1 person to deal with 1 / 2 beak things at a time, I always end up putting everyone on hold and micro each of them to attack a different Beakie and then move whoever doesn't need to fight away, or on crossbow duty.

7) Profit!
Just try to put one or two of your fighters against every beak thing + use shooters from the flangs
If you need to run, make sure you aren't wearing any armor that has negative to athletics. After the terrible armor patch, all boots will slow you down at lower Grades, almost every chain and plate pants and armor will slow you down. Even some Leather low grade armor slows you down. If you need to run a lot, its probably best to carry sandals with you for the 1.10x Athletics bonus.
Edit: Just in case you don't know, you can hover over the Athletics tag that appears in the bottom left corner when you select someone that is running. It will tell you your MPH and Max MPH, and if you have any penalties.
