Toppers

Since their return to the game has anyone used them? Are they alright or just plain trash like I am inclined to suspect? I’m think about making them a nodachi replacement...

I honestly consider the Topper to be the superior Katana class weapon.
[ At Model # Mk III for both weapons ]
Topper has -15% armor penetration to the Nodachi's -20%
Same -4 penalty for indoor combat
Doesn't have the +4 to attack but also doesn't have the -4 to defense
It doesn't have bonus or penalty vs. specific enemy types like the Nodachi's -39% to skeletons

If you want a Topper blueprint I would recommend trying the scraphouse in black desert city. I have seen it there a couple of times.

It seems Topper BP where actually moved. Cheking the FCS, the only one I found is outside the current map :
in the coming city of Catun itself.

Toppers used to be consider a good choice for new recruits, but they have tweaked the stats so much over time that this may no longer be true.

in my opinion a character with alot of str and dex combined with martial arts is the best class out matching a swords man with similar stats.

I've begun to notice in mass-melee that MA focused chars seem to fair better than others. The longer reach weapons also fare well.

Worlds End and Black Desert sell them in current build, it just seems really rare.

Ok you're right, but I blame the FCS, because when I ask to show me the reference for an item, it doesn't show the blueprint vendor list, as it used to. So, the only way now seems to be to check the vendor list one by one.

Just checked the FCS references for Toppers blueprint and 4 vendor lists were returned.

Yes, but check the topper itself :) No reference for the BP lists.

Because weapon BPs are handled differently than armour and the like, they are actual research entries set up as bleuprints.

Toppers can be bought at:
Flotsam Village
Scraphouse
World's End
Blister Hill (Flotsam)

As well as potentially looted at:
Tower of Ninjas
Cactus Den
