Since you apparently never watched someone run or run yourself, this is how people look like when they run the fastest way possible :

Besides looking like an idiot, Naruto running is not more efficient. In fact, it might be less efficient since you don't use your arms for balancing purposes, and spend extra strength to keep the stance.
*tough crowd*
So to clarify we need to tilt the animation -12deg. on Y axis to make them faster ?
From the way they move I would guess it might be more optimized for their feet not to sink into soft ground while running. (Like dunes in the desert for example).
its also less obvious than swinging arms
i forgot where i learned this from, but it was how fighters were trained to run before the US got them to open up
it was slower than normal running but the normal run was a mess with 5 samurai & drawn swords
the spearman & musketmen used a typical charge, bowmen had 1/2 naruto with a nocked bow behind & arm bent in front
non-military ran normal
yes i'm weeb, so is the dev
Kenshi running is also different from reality.
Run while holding down the Katana and Hakama with hands.
Otherwise, The Katana comes out of scabbard. Hakama is hard to run.
Nodachi and Naginata is Carry on the shoulder.
By the way. I think it's strange that wearing Geta-clogs makes run faster.
In reality, it is difficult to run and falls.
Kenshi is also fiction. No problem.
Because why the ♥♥♥♥ not? :P
It's a video game, some tongue-in-cheek comic relief is permissible.
