Kenshi
Skeleton limbs
Can skeletons be delimbed? If not can I remove and attach new arms and legs without the need to remove them via combat?

Skeletons can lose their limbs and will need to be cut off through combat before you can use other robotic limbs. Vanilla way is to find Skeletons with stats in their 50s and save beforehand hoping the Skeleton cuts off the limbs you want. The workshops in Deadlands are abundant with Skeletons so there is a good place to try.

Another method which I found out though not sure what effects might happen is through the Forgotten Construction Set(FCS) which you can run by selecting the "Launch game editior" when running Kenshi from steam.

Run FCS>Close initial pop-up>Open any>save>"your save file">platoon>Nameless_0.platoon>Changes>MEDICAL_STATE>flesh3,flesh4,flesh5,flesh6

If you don't see Nameless_0.platoon look for the platoon with your faction name. By selecting Changes you should be able to see the names of the characters you have in a particular squad.

The name format is also an indication for your MEDICAL_STATE example:
(Names in the top of the list)
1.Candy
2.Pop
3.Pink
4.Shocker

1.MEDICAL_STATE
2.MEDICAL_STATE
3.MEDICAL_STATE
4.MEDICAL_STATE

Find the MEDICAL_STATE for the character you want the limbs to be remove which is flesh3(left arm), flesh4(right arm), flesh5(left leg), flesh6 (right leg). Depending on the race you will need to remove by 101% example: Skeleton has 200 hp per limb then enter -201, Shek has 125 hp per limb then enter -126.

When you load the save the character you want limbless should be limbless and it is advisable to have your robotic limbs beforehand to be ready.

Take note: I don't think it should affect much of your game but do it at your own risk.

Why would I purposefully cut the limbs off of AI skeletons? Or do those count as robotic arms you can attach to other people with missing limbs? If so that's awesome.

However, normally arms require cut damage to be dismembered, for skeletons that doesn't make perfect sense, wanted to just double check just in case it'd be wasting time.

AI Skeletons that have high stats usually use heavy weapons that can cut off your character's limb easily. I don't think the game matters whether or not your limb is cut off by cut damage or blunt damage as long as it go beyond a certain point and your game options for losing limbs is frequent then that limb is coming off.

Patch notes themselves said cut damage was needed. I think that just means weapons with absolutely zero cut damage won't lop limbs off.

Edit: Actually, that means unarmed can lop limbs too, since that has a tiny bit of cut damage. Now that is funny to imagine.

Where in the patch notes did it mentioned for limbs to get cut off it is required to be from cut damage?

Can’t seem to find it, “when a limb goes below -100 damage, that limb gets amputated” is the only quote I found in the patch notes unless it’s hidden somewhere else?
Cut damages not needed.
