Likely new animations for weapons will come last(or after release), as it works now and everything else is more important.
But.
Animation is... long, expensive, difficult, and whatnot. Could you mod it in? Sure, it appears the framework is there. But I didn't see it on the list of planned/luxury features last I checked, so it's probably not likely.
For the proposed "Kenshi 1.5" or sequel with new, totally awesome gameplay that I've heard mumblings about? Possible. We'll see.
As for animations, I highly doubt we'll get a whole lot more animations, it's my hope that a talented modder will one day add a lot of new animations and redo a lot of the current ones, just for the sake of change, the current ones are just fine as they are, but I can't help but be ever so slightly disappointed when every weapons are swung basically the same except for the katana's special 1-2, which, imo, every weapon type should have their own signature move.
Now i could be very wrong in that.
But also unsure if new animation's can be added at this time.
You already did by making this topic.
If they have information they will post it.
