How to delete my outpost so I can rellocate
Hello,

is it possible to delete my outpost already?
This problem seem to be there since 2016 if not earlier...
If it's not possible, then how can I import my save to a new game(this is supposed to keep my characters, but delete outpost since we generate a new map)

When youre at the main menu press the import button and untick the import building box. That should give you a new map with your research and characters maintained . Oh tick the reset squad position if you want to well.. reset it.

Yeah I got it, thanks :]

Is there any progress on deleting an outpost without importing tho?
It has been mentioned 2 years ago and still nothing? :(

You have to dismantle everything. Once done then the oupost should disappear.

Adding a dismantle everything option is not possible ether. The Dev had that for walls once on the alpha release. It tended to crash the game the longer the walls where.

Ah, I left few torches :D

Good to know, thanks.

Can you tell me how to rent a bed?
I have an injured squad mates and I can't seem to find a bed that can be rented :|
It keeps saying that I don't own it.
Interesting. When I go to bars I just right click the bed on the second floor and it says "Paid 100" and I rest there - no dialogue option either. Would be a preferred method if a dev is looking, I've clicked over a bed intending to move a few times and accidentally spent money. It's not much money but it's still like "dang!" when it happens. I wonder why it's telling you that, are you in a regular store by chance?

Yeah I was in different buildings, I assumed that a bar is not a right place to look for a bed lel.
It works :)

Whenever you're planning on relocating your base, it's always a good idea to stock up as many people with as many building material, and iron plates as possible to get yourself set up quick again, and then import the save with "import buildings" unchecked.

As for sleeping, I usually go to bars that have the bed sign outside. If I can't find one of those and there happens to be a Thieves tower, I'll take that option. If all else doesn't seem to be working, I tend to have everyone carry at least one sleeping bag - that way when they're out on an adventure, they've always got a bed to hit up when they're injured. I've even gotten to the point of using small items to create an outpost, drop a tent and some sleeping bags and then I have a fallback spot when things get hairy in the wild. Usually a good idea to make sure the surrounding area isn't a breeding zone for some nasty spawns, but otherwise this option has helped out quite a few times and now I almost never travel without enough sleeping bags for the party I'm using.

Yeah I got sleeping bags as well, tho you can't use them if you are too close to a city.

How do you tell if there is a breeding zone nearby?
Can you destroy it, so they stop breeding?
Building small outposts seem like a good idea, hopefully they are marked on a map as well.

"breeding zone" was a bad choice of words.
Nests are one way to tell, the other is if there's a whole lot of animals or patrols around. Once you kill all the creatures at a nest it seems as though they stop spawning, but I don't often go out and check - where I am stationed right now has Beak Things at my door in piles almost constantly. Camping nearby would be immediate suicide.

You could also buy a house in one of the towns and set up a few beds there. That's always useful.

With building small outposts, I generally drop a well and then merc tent and some beds. Mine have always showed up on the map as a little "x" but you have to be zoomed on the map to see them. Tends to help to remember geographical landmarks on the map to make sure you remember where you place your camps.

Thanks for the tips, that should make my life easier :D

It's one thing this community is in no short supply of. XD

Sometimes wish I'd spent more times reading the forums here and on LoFi's website to learn all the things I trial and error'd my way to knowing.

i deleted all the buildings at my outpost, and it did remove my outpost, but for some reason it also made me lose all the houses i had bought in cities

Why do you want to dispose it? Just leave it empty of people and it will stay intact and raids do not go there, Might come handy to have a safe place when you come around next.

i've run into this a lot actually. you make an outpost and realize that it isn't where you want it. you could leave it, sure, but you're thinking about the later. having outposts everywhere isn't the worst plan, of course, but whenever i'm doing things, i try to keep it all at only one or two outposts and everything else is a waste. that depends on the player though, in all reality, without too much issue, you could leave outposts everywhere.

I guess the game has changed a lot since I made this post.
I believe that you were limited to 1 outpost or that traders/npcs would only visit your 1st outpost.

Regardless this might no longer be relevant.
