Sleeping Bags for Exploration Journeys
Does anyone go on long journeys across the lands? What do you bring?

I make sure to have plenty of food on hand, but now we're well east and south of the Great Desert and I'm thinking we should have brought sleeping bags. Some of us are injured from a scuffle with Outlaw Farmers, and our pace has been slowed.

Should I invest in a few sleeping bags for those long journeys into distant wilds?

That or plan city stops, can rent out the bar beds, gets expensive though if you do that
I'd take some with me.

Sleeping bags heal at 400% opposed to beds 800%, and healing is already pretty dang slow. Ideally you'd just get one of your healthy(er) people to lug the recovering guy to gain some strength exp and keep on the move.

If you have to use them, you want to heal up your guy just enough that he can move on his own again at a respectable speed. Aiming for full health is a trap as more often and not you'll get pathed into by bandits/animals before that rolls around. But if you can find a location that is safe, by all means sleep to full.
I always have one character carrying a wooden backpack with a few sleeping bags in it for such an event. Don't have em wear the pack (too many negatives to combat and athletics for a squad on the move), just keep it in their bag. The wooden pack is so the sleeping bags stack, its just easier and more space effecient to toss the bags in a pack that allows for stacking than having each member carry their own pack.

If you run with larger squads then more sleeping bags may be a good idea. I try to have 1 bag for every 2 squad members. Try and find a decently out of the way spot to set up camp and set a few guards out in sneak mode to spot any incoming problems while the injured are recovering. I also take advantage of that downtime to cook any raw meat I may have picked up along the way to extend the rations a bit. Once the injured folks heal enough to keep a decent pace you can pick up camp and move out.
A sleeping bag, a full max quality medkit & splint kit & food on every party members, and a garru with a backpack full of building materials and cloth so I can dot resting outposts along the way if necessary.

I don't like having one character carrying everyone else's, so everyone has to carry their own share. Obviously the garru is an exception because he can carry such an enormous amount of stuff.

I never go out with out having a sleeping bag for everyone.
I try to have at least 1 or 2 sleeping bags minimum. Everyone has some food, med kits, a splint or 2. Thats about it. Although I usually travel with 5-6 squad memebers most of the time.
Tend to carry a scrap of leather or some linen just to put tents up, more for aesthetics occaisionally for rain. Campfires also get assembled but they're free, cook as we go if the opportunity arises.

If i have at least 1 skelly, then i'll also carry enough materails to build a skel. bed along with a couple of other beds. Usually i'll by up a cheap(est) plot in each town i visit and put a bed or two down in addition to carrying a couple of sleeping bags just in case.

Carrying spare gas/fog masks per character and swapping them out for tanglemusts also can be a thing if i know where i'm travelling rather than just wondering around.
After playing the game and not having sleeping bags for a long time. And now with them being an actual thing in game. Hell yeah sleeping bags come everywhere. Love bags.
I didn't really use sleeping bags. As my preferred squad size is small but high athletics, the best medic carry an advanced splint kit to get them ready for most escapes. Except beak things. Then again, setting up camp bed in gutter roaming grounds can be just as hazardous. Depending on location, I have enough loot to sell to cover the bed rent.

I did use sleeping bags mainly for my gate guard(s) to sleep and recover from injuries while still ready for anyone and anything trying to knock at the door with 6-10 harpoon turrets tracking at center mass. Wearing full armor with a nodachi or topper for crowd cutting, letting the turrets deal with the heavier targets. Being a scorchlander, raw meat is relatively easy to come by, depending on location.
I always bring sleeping bags, at least half as many as my squad if not one for everyone. I also bring a piece of fabric to set up a tent if I'm going somewhere that might have acid rain. Being able to throw up a tent and sleep off your wounds while in the middle of an acid rain area can be life saving.

It's handy to have the sleeping bags if over half your squad ends up with leg injuries. Being able to stop and rest for a bit is much better than having to slowly trudge back with a broken leg.
I bring sleeping bags and leathers for camping. But I I have a pack Garru. Carrying a bit more is no problem.

Sometimes the nearest town is just too far and the team too banged up.
