invisible walls?
just got this game, seems ok so far but ive now built my first house and couple of shacks, one of my squad wont go in the house, hes a hive guard named flint,or something beginning with f anyway.

its like theres an invisible wall around the house he just wont go past :(

do hive guards not go in houses?

the other 2 squad members have no problem at all and just walk past him into the house.

Rebuild your nav mesh Ctlr + shift + f11. Or shift + f12 and click fix stuff.

Also try lifting them up and movibg your stuck squad mate then place them down.

in extreme cases you can save and then load with reset position checkbox.

also i've recently read that importing rebuilds the navmesh better than Ctrl-Shift-F11 or Shift-F12 but i'm not sure if its true..

Wouldn't say better but the combo of using them Both can work rather well.

tried both button combinations but something else went wierd in the meantime so going to scrap it all and start again i think, somethings not right.

while doing the reset thing my menus n windows all sank downwards like my resolution had changed, and i was unable to see anything useful in my menus.

ive had this happen when i chose borderless in graphic settings before, tho unsure why thats kicked in again as i set to full screen.

haha,i hate computers sometimes.

ill figure it out :)

cheers.
Alt + enter for fullscreen. Its a known issue.

As for the other part. Zipup and upload the save folder with the issue. How to is posted in bug forum under the pinned topic, how to report a bug.

I would paste the info but on cell phone untill i get my computer fixed.

that did it, thanks.

just spent half an hour swearing at the stupid walls and a gate that keeps unlocking and opening when i move away from it.grr, nearly got eaten because of it. :(

had to delete the gate and just fit a wall for now haha, will have to just keep adding/removing a section of wall for now.

game has a few bugs left to fix i guess lol.

If you place the wall one section at a time and keep adding/removing it, sometimes it can be buggy.

My suggestion is to plan things ahead. Once you've decided where to put your walls, try to place it in one go if you can. After you've placed the scaffold down, you can tell your engineer to start working on it one piece at a time. Does that make sense?

thanks chap, yes its coming together slowly now,ill get the hang of the various parts im sure.

still baffled by the gate though,i have to leave whoever locks it at the gate now,its the only way to keep it closed at nightime.

i even tried adding an inner courtyard with a second gate, but that does it as well ha.

i need a break tonight now,im worn out :) ,ill try a reset again tommorow night and see if that fixes it.

cheers and thanks for help.

Gates are buggy, always have been. Hit & miss if you get them to work.

Has something to do with game not registering if a squad member went through it or not. So sometimes when you ask them to do a job they will run to the gate & open it first.

Very annoying but most of the time you can sort it out by getting them to manually open/close/lock/unlock or repeat using the UI instead. Having multiple gates just increases the likelihood of a problem which is so annoying, yes, I already said that but it's so annoying lol ;o)
