Why backpacks are uncraftable?
More over, they are MANDATORY for hauling and crafting to work, as crafter without backpack will stuck with full inventory eventually.

yes they should be soooo craftable kinda annoying doing shop runs just to find some of them.

Doesn't really make sense given that we can craft literally almost everything else.

+1 to that. Especially when you have a few of them despawn from their containers. (Rare, but it's happened a few times)

visiting same shop in same town N times each 24-72 hours to get N backpacks is hardly "exploration".
it's grind\tedium\waste of time, especially if you just need backpack for your non combat units to keep them running inside base.

We already are forced to go out and explore to get ancient science books, AI cores, and engineering blueprints. We should not be forced to go out and explore to get something as simple as a backpack.

Besides, this is a sandbox game, and we really shouldn't be 'forced' to do anything.

I just checked and apparently it can't be modded. They don't appear in the craftable result. Probably because they are a specific category (container).

Not everything has to be craftable by the Player.
there are many things done in the game and prevented by the player so they do not turtle up inside there bases.

This is just one instance that makes it so that you need to leave your base to go find supplies and items you need.

If you want the ability to craft them in game then you go and make a Mod ( if its moddable ) to bypass the Devs decision. this is why Modding ability is in game. granted you can't mod everything but you have a good amount o choices.

It's also why i have 12 mods that deal with what i think how parts of the game should be.

Apparently it's not moddable.
not everything in game is moddable
hence why i added if it's possible. but i never tried to mod it either because i agree that there is no need to add them to the game to be crafted by the player. or i would have ( tried to add ) added them in one of my mods. or asked the Devs to make it available as a feature request.

since this isn't the first time this topic has come up.

Ah, I see.

I do find it strange that we can't craft at least the Small Backpacks. They're mostly what I use anyway these days.

(1 Thief Bag and 1 Small Backpack per character minimum)

sorry but this makes again no sense. we can craft highest weapons and armor but simple backpacks aren't possible? Soonw e might even craft tobotic limbs. Also how is that even preventing turtling? Among all the things offered, this is the least "non turtle" reason.
