i cant find any trader that sells backpacks

dude i have been to lots of towns including brink but i can not find one trader that sells any kind of backpack it is bugged as hell

Have you tried to the thieves towers? They usually have some...
It's a pretty unusual problem,try importing and see what happens.
Also maybe you have some mod acting funny.

I've noticed some shops being replaced by barracks/armories on occasion in some games, it's possible you are really unlucky and have this. For example in Stack, in all 4 of my play throughs the Bakery has only ever been a Bakery once, every other time it was a Barrack.

Most of the Swamp, Hive, Waystation and Caravan traders sell at least traders backpacks.
