How can I lose limbs as a skeleton ?
I don't know how to lose my limbs.

I play a single character so I can't use the peeler machine. It's a skeleton so it can't be eaten by cannibals, nor be damaged by acid rain. I tried many many times to fight, but I became KO every times because my head is not protected, so I have to run to a repair bed every time I lose too much max HP, the repair bed also repair my limbs so it's counter productive.

What method do you use ? I'm not against mods if it's "realistic", like maybe using a repair bed to change limbs.

Unholy Chestplate is your best vanilla option. Covers body/stomach 100%. No head coverage, but head has a fairly low % chance to get hit.

Statistically speaking, you should lose your limbs well before your vitals are in serious danger using this method, the right arm is the hardest to lose.

I'll try that thanks, the holy chest plate is the same, no ? I can get this by looting a paladin. I don't know where to get unholy chestplate, I only know I can get the blueprint in black scratch.

Hi. Try fighting any one Iron Spider bots unarmed & without armour. Can find them in Iron Trails/Floodlands/Obedience. Just make sure you have the limbs on you. Good luck.

I have the holy chestplate equiped, I have fight 2 times a broken skeleton who is equiped with a frag axe, he always succeed to hit me in the head until I'm KO, I must be unlucky.

I'll try the Iron Spider, thanks.

What I'd do is find an enemy with a crossbow, wear a high end holy chestplate, then simply stand in the barrage of bolts while they shoot you. If your head starts getting fairly damaged, I'd run away and heal it (but only it and the chest/stomach as well as one arm. Give a movement command to the character to interrupt the healing.)Then just repeat the process until you've lost an arm.

After that, make sure to take the prosthetic arm off when getting shot to prevent damage to it, only put it on when healing, and only heal critical body parts.

The important thing to remember is that a solo character cannot heal with two broken arms. So you want to always keep one arm capable at all times, just in case.

Why don't you hire a temporary recruit then fire him after you're done using the peeler machine?

Well I tried the spider bot, but I had to equip the chestplate as they hit a lot of time my vitals parts. It still too hard to get it done, I died a lot of time. So I've done save-scumming until I successfully removed my limbs.

I regret that there isn't a better alternative, there is plastic surgeons in this world so one could expect there is also robotics surgeons.

If there's no alternative I'll try that next time, thanks.

You could also try to gamble on Megacrab, two lucky hits and off goes a limb, two unlucky hits and you're instantly dead lol.

Is peeler machine a thing to lose limbs as a Skeleton?
Oh ♥♥♥♥, I forgot to mention, set Limb loss to frequent, then your limb drops off any time it goes below -85(HiveW) -100(Human/Scorch/HiveP-S) -125(Shek) and -200(Skeleton).

At that point, you don't need to wait for a good hit, just get your limb "Wounded" retreat and wait, the wound will deteriorate and it'll fall off. It will take a while though, so get somewhere cozy. "Wounds" are denoted by (<, <<, <<!!)

this behavior doesn't need to set Limb loss to frequent.
really

I think that would be the case for living humanoïds but not for skeleton, in my experiences I could have damage over time on vitals parts but I never get that on limbs (maybe unlucky), even at very low HP they repair by themselves.

It does, otherwise you need to have a hit take it below the amputation threshold, which is harder than it seems. With frequent setting, you can just take a minor < Wound and let it go gangrene and drop off all by itself. Like a Lizard shedding its tail!

You must have your chance of death very low then, All limbs heal automatically, depending on your toughness score the wound itself may not be able to beat out the natural regen.

Set chance of death to 4, and take a scratch on any limb, and watch it fly off in like 3 seconds at any toughness score under 50 lol.

Very funny seeing tons of Samurai without legs/arms because that's how intense the damage over time via wounds gets at 4x. Stoat may as well be renamed to Stumpat.

I have chance of death set to 1 and 59 toughness, so that explain it, I didn't know toughness can negate damage over time on limbs.
