[Spoilers] The Broken ones
Hey all,

So, The Broken ones...those homicidal robots who protect you (and your team) and attack everything else, hostile, neutral or friend. Fun to lead them into somewhere that doesn't like you for sure. However, I had a different experience with my robot army...

Having imprinted on me, they followed me back home where they attacked some of the neutral guys patrolling my settlement. Not ideal, so I took the off West thinking I'd set them against their brethren while I loot stuff. However, on the way I had several encounters.

The first was your usual Grass Pirates or whatever they're called, they made short work of those guys and I healed up any that were damaged. Next they quite unfortunately targetted a Trade Caravan and were out-matched! During the fight a group of slavers started attacking everybody...except me for some reason, and the result was that I lost most of the surviving Broken ones to those...they were carted off as Slaves.

The remaining three gradually got whittled away so I headed home, finally free of my followers. I was proceeding to sell some prior looted items at a waystation when one, two and then three "Slave" Broken ones showed up...their programming to follow me evidently overriding their "Slave" status. I removed their shackles and they passively stood and waited.

I was surprised they weren't triggered by the nearby NPC's - I was just outside that waystation - so I wandered in to see what would happen. Nothing! The remains of my Robot army has been changed by their short time as a Slave it seems. They're no longer attacking everything!

While I only have three remaining, they're now of course very valuable...assuming they still attack things that are hostile to me of course. I wonder if any more will come wandering back over time, like these three.

As an aside, are NPC's persistent in Kenshi? I mean, early-game some Mercenaries protecting my fledgling settlement were defeated and taken by Slavers. Will those guys still be about somewhere? If so, I imagine any of the Broken ones that survived but were enslaved still persist...somewhere.

Anyway, thought I'd share. Probably not a unique experience, but it's the first time I've seen it.

Interesting that they stopped being hostile. I equipped mine with paladin gear and took them on a merry trip through the holy nation. Was great fun until they simply weren't there on one of my loads. Shame they vanished with some really really high level equipment. Miss the little buggers

Heh, I managed to get them killed when we got ambushed by a large group of Wolves. I had to bail on the fight and they were unarmed, which I'd not noticed. I should have checked their gear an equipped them better - they're basically double my stats - but I didn't think to check, so surprised by their new passive nature.

I did return to the site of the fight, there was still a green circle on the map, indicating at least one had survived, but there was nothing. No dead robots or wolves. I walked to the nearby slave town (Eyesocket) and there were none enslaved there. Perhaps they'll show up again, who knows.

shudda took em straight over tengus vault slightly closer you shoud try there as well maby?

maby you missed one as it can be hard to see downed skeletons or even other races other wise if theres no dead bodies there, shouldn't be a marker for them

either way its an intresting thing to try out I always liked the idea of building a pen for them in base to release em on raids but never seem to have gotten that far in game and have em

plus they hard to walk across country when they attack everthing in sight

Yeah, that was on my list of places to go.

I paused the game and scoured the area where that green dot was. Nothing. I did a quick save / reload to see if it was just glitched and the green dot was gone. Not a clue where those guys ended up. Oh, I forgot to mention, after those first three, two more turned up, so I had a total of five. Quite a decent fighting team....if I'd checked their gear lol.

Hopefully I'll encounter them again one day in my travels...it'd be cool to see at least one still functional again.

seems more than likely how the games working is the character data? is still saved in an active state but thye just not been loaded in the world, so due to the fact they still saved living data they just chance spawn in randomly

should be able to just pick em up and put on the gear and give em decent weapons you might wanna try putting in a few repair kits and med kits on on em as body guard a.i would include heal allies and squad so youll have a medic to heal you auto and make it easier for em to heal themselves after battle
