Tips for removing a hiver's legs without the peeler?
So I'm training a hiver scout but the only problem is his legs have to go. With other races I'd just have them take a walk on acid ground, but that doesn't work for hivers. Unfortunately I don't have a peeler and I'm guessing getting one is pretty hard considering it's down in the south-east quadrant of the map.

Anyone got any ideas for losing his legs reliably?

Make him fight an elder beak thing, or people with fragment axes (might lose limbs other than legs)

Fogmen, always work for me even when I don't want to remove their legs.

I'm looking for something I can recover the character from. Not sure I've got the manpower to go save him from fogmen :P

To be honest you only need 2 or 3 high level units knock everyone out and book it.

Easiest thing to do if you don't have a peeler or want to use fogmen, simply don't heal the legs after combat. Body parts are healed from the top down, so heal the main body and arms, then cancel the healing. Then go get into more fights when the rest of you is healed up.

Eventually the legs will come off.

Couldn't you just get royally ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up too and just let them "bleed out?"

Sure, but that can take a very long time, especially with hivers who have a far slower wound degradation rate.

And unless you set limb loss to frequent, they'll still need to get hit in the legs after the HP gets low enough to lose them.

Those security spiders from ancient ruins, they hit for 50 ~ 100 to unarmored limbs and won't harm downed characters.

Let it fight them.

I have limb loss set to frequent and I can attest that the security spider bot method is guaranteed to remove multiple limbs from all of your party members. Sometimes they miss and take off a head or sever a follower clean in two, but generally it's the limbs that fall off.

I can't believe none of us thought of this but ELDER BEAK THINGS, I literally just fought one and I am missing so many limbs.
