Meitou Fragment Axe?!?
This thing, this monstruosity weights 72 kg. You need 144 str to wield. Even if you lose your arms and get lifter arms you wont make the cut for using it.

But lets say u cap str, grab em limbs and come close to 144 str.

Will the falling sun still out perform it?!?

Btw... is the plank good? The wiki doesnt list any bonuses.

The Falling Sun will indeed outperform it. Even if you get the strength to wield the axe, you only barely have it, so any minor scratch will penalize it low enough that you cannot wield it effectively anymore.

And while I personally like the Plank as a weapon, statistically speaking it is the worst of the Heavy Weapons. An axe one quality level down will outperform it, and the Falling Sun will outperform that.

the main balancing factors for the falling sun are its high cutting damage, so its damage primarily runs off dex instead of strength like the other heavy weapons, and its rarity, the weapons don't show up often and the blueprint can only be found in two locations, an endgame dungeon in the Ashlands and the scraphouse, which also sells all tiers of research artefacts.
it doesn't even turn up in the "sells every blueprint in the game*" library in black scratch.

Falling sun has half of its damage in the cutting type, which is heavily blocked by many armors. Some armors have a whopping 90 cut resist efficiency. It is good for things that bleed a lot, not so good for skeleton, metal spiders, and heavy armor guys.

a little nit-picky but the falling sun doesn't have half its damage in cutting, it's more than that at every level, starting out at 0.46/0.1 (roughly four fifths of the damage) at rusted junk to 2.46/2 at meitou, it both looks and functions like a ridiculously oversized katana.
also fragment axes are the strongest blunt damge weapons in the game, if your dex is bad due to focusing mostly on strength for heavy weapons then you don't have to worry about it holding you back, also skeletons can heal cut damage, they can't fix blunt damage so if you're fighting them with a fragment axe, you don't have to worry about them getting back up for a long time.

Skeleton has low bleed rate, putting them into reboot mode with cutting damage is not as easy as the other races. The fact that most other things bleed like crazy is what makes this weapon so popular.

The Meitou Fragment Axes just aren't viable, and you have to anger and destroy the only semi-decent major faction to get them both. You'd be better off with an Edgewalker 3 Falling Sun, replacing it with the Meitou Exile Plank and then the Meitou Falling Sun.

planks also work if you want to focus on blunt damage, at 48kg for the meitou you can actually reach the recommended strength without ILAs so if you have them you'll get a degree of leniency for injury penalties. they don't have the same focus on blunt that a fragment axe does, but you don't need to avoid using anything above MkIII to keep the wieght below the 50kg "you can't get enough strength naturally to properly wield this."

No need to anger Shek faction, just steal one from her while she's sleeping at every imports to get as many you like.
