Play Dead
Any chance we could get the ability to "play dead" without being beaten up? That way, if I've just been beaten up six times in a row and another group of Berserkers are coming towards me, I can just drop and let them pass me by?

in the world of kenshi, no. The enemies would just loot your supposedly corpse but someone can mod the game to allow the mechanic of playing dead after injuries to instead do it without. There is a chance they will loot your body which then has a chance of detecting the fact that you are not dead and then attacking you. This will depend on your stealth skill.

In some cases, I would be OK being looted if it meant I walked away with my life.

playing dead is tied to your toughness skill
the higher it is the more likely your person will stay down.
call it the difference between a rookie and a veteran soldier.
veterans rarely die while rookies are basically cannon fodder. time and experience makes them able to understand when to stay down, versus jumping up and helping out against a more powerful enemy.

My solo guy stays down too often. I tell him when he can chicken out of a fight not him!! lol.
Many a time I've made him get up & he's knocked out all the remaining enemy, he's simply too cautious.

Look at some of the starter guides on raising toughness and then go out for your fights you will notice a difference in how they fight as well as how often the play dead to avoid more combat.

Yes, currently the toughness skill is related to to staying down yet all i am saying is that if a enemy was to loot your supposed corpse, they can find out that you are alive so to mod the game to allow staying down without being injured will require another skill.

might be nice to allow a critical attack on a bandit looting you while you play dead. it doesn't have to be an instant KO, but can significantly give you time to run away, or finish off the one who almost knocked you out.

So possibly something like a stun move that incapacitates them so you can get up and book it. Would use the asassination skill id think.

A swift kick to the groin and off you go

Playing dead is for weak, pathetic sissies. How dare you even ask for such a feature?

Ya know I ran into this issue the other day. I remember reading this topic originally and thinking, aint really had that happen. Then the other day I had a fight where people jsut kept getting up over and over.

Then liek the op said the berskers/kral's chosen jsut suck to get back up on because next hit going to jsut drop you into the -60 range.

perhaps playing dead can have diminishing returns if you fool the same enemy more than once.
