you need to kill the population several times before you can effectively kill the town.
on the mini map. hover your mouse over the city name. look at the population count.
you have to get that to zero to kill the town.

ok,down with the holy empire!
good luck
it's not easy to kill off the population.

I have not tried to do this, but hypotherically, let's say you did that to Stack, get it to 0. wouldn't the HN just send in new people from nearby towns like Blister Hill or Bad Teeth or the Holy Military Base @HaTsUne

most likely, but choke points in this game are your best friend
its supposed to respawn the population over time. to simulate the factions sending more people to repopulate it.

War campaigns have three sort of generic "goals" available to them, Assault, Conquer, and Defend. Right now there is only the assault feature implemented in different forms, from being attacked to traders visiting you to the IRS demanding you pay property tax. Eventually the Conquuer feature will work where, presumably, the "army" comes and tries to capture your base by killing everyone and just remaining there, using the beds, the turrets, and maybe repairing stuff if their AI allows it. Alternatively in what I can only describe as my dreams it will actually become "theirs" on the map where, if you scroll over your former base, it will have the new faction's name and given population with spawns slowly trickeling in to populate it. Defend will be the run of the mill "send army here to help X town or Y ally."

Sounds awesome AF, as long as that also works for us, whereas we can if we have a big enough badarse enough faction to take over a town, kill all the UC or the HN holding it, it becomes our faction, we get to rename the town etc etc, quid pro quo, I don't mind losing my town if I can also take over theirs.

I tried this again on last patch with crew of 80 i believe, went to eliminate one of the new towns in the new region (that was attacking for no reason pre fix) and it took hours. I think id hit 3 hours, including some FFs to heal and still couldnt kill the town. Was fun trying though. :)
The dead where everywhere XD
