Sales Counter
If you set up a sale counter to sell to other NPC's, do you need to have a member of your party man the store so to speak?

no it is not nessecary but without someone manning the shop, thieves can get inside and steal instead of buying since you have to have your door open for indoor shops while outdoors is risky because shinobi thieves and thugs will steal while they sneak. Whatever the player can do, npcs can too except slavery.
no one is needed for your sales counter.
set to public and you're good to go.

and i never seen shinobi thieves steal from a shop counter. or even heard of that happening.

i had thugs like swampers STEAL from my shop when i wasnt micromanaging it myself. It was some drifter who came in and was in sneak mode. I clicked on them and it shown commited crime (4)

NPC's buy trade goods like luxury goods, leather, medical kits, splint kits, food of any kind except wheatstraw, catcus, greenfruit, and etc. Also trade goods like chainmail sheets, fabric, or building materials and lastly those research books and Ai cores. Do not sell armor or weapons or any kind of stolen items that is tagged.

Based on my exp, i suggest you do not sell highly expensive crap like chainmail sheets or Ai cores or even the advanced medical kits. Sell things like basic med kits, basic splint kits, food like food cubes, dustwiches and gohans. NPC's of all kinds require these so its possible to make the most money out of selling this.

NPCs like yourself do not have nor want to spend crazy amounts of money. They even will say in dialogue like " I can't afford this" which shows their spending income is so low that they cant afford your stuff. I dont know if there is a mod to INCREASE their inventory money but so far theres only a mod called outland coin purses and this will allow them by random to be able to buy your stuff with increased spending money they have.

Do understand that you may need other mods to increase the useless npcs in towns and cities so they will venture into your shop or stall to buy stuff. Unless chris impliments npcs FULL OF MONEY, armor and weapons are never going to be sold to npcs at all. The items are just too expensive.

The towns based on tinkering with the import system is have a stall or shop where theres plenty of traffic.

Excellent towns => Shark ( swamps), Blister hill and Stack ( holy nation), Stout and shoto bataii and Heng (UC),

Moderate towns => Clownsteady (UC), Worlds end ( tech hunters),

BAD towns => drifters last (UC), any other towns in the far end of the map

I personally never tried the shek towns so good luck on that.

Thanks folks, good to know.
I have shops and outposts in every outpost, every town, every place where someone lives, even near Mercenary camps, and never, not once, a person has bought anything from one of my shop counters.

make sure your outpost is set to public.
in the store counter you can only sell trade goods.
you can not sell weapons or armours.
being near a road also helps.
