Samurai Boots Vs Plated Long Boots.
Does anyone use the Samurai Boots vs the Plated Long Boots?

For me, I have some who wear the full set of Samurai Armor. (Helmet, Chest Plate, Leg Plates, Boots) With Blackened Chainmail.

The thing I'm running into is, it seems that Plated Long Boots are better than Samurai Boots. They have nowhere near the penalties, offer 10 percent more coverage, and no Dodge Penalty. Samurai Boots have a SLIGHT edge for Cut protection, but it's not very much. (Specialist Grade is 0.74 to 0.82 and they have equal blunt and harpoon resistance.)

Granted, the Plated boots are 1 Kg heavier, but BFD given the advantages.

So, is there a reason I should stick with Samurai Boots (Besides uniformity) or should I just scrap them and move over to the Plated Boots?

Given how penalties work (no stacking; only the worst one is used), if you're using the Samurai Legplates, you might as well wear the boots too. You won't be dodging very effectively in the heavy armour anyway, so that penalty is safely ignored in that case. And all others are overwritten by the legplates penalties.

If you're wearing literally any other pants though, the Plated Longboots take the cake. For all the reasons you stated.

Personally I consider them a little overpowered. And should probably be given something like
20-40% stun conversion. As that would give them an effective resistance more balanced between Drifter's Boots (light) and Samurai Boots (heavy), which is is where a medium armour like the Plated Longboots should be in my opinion. It should also be noted that literally no other medium armour has a 0% stun conversion, which clearly makes them the odd one out in their family here.

But that's just my 2 Cats. ;)

I feel more along the lines that the Legplates need a buff, they and the boots are debuffed way harder than other Armor by a long way.

But I agree...

That said, I'll still pay for it if Chris would throw in a Hakama and Kekogi for us to wear, and maybe even that Samurai Topknot.

On the subject of armor.... I still love the Flared Helmet so much more than the Samurai Helmet. (Masked helmet is okay, but I wish we had Flared helmet with that face guard.) Or maybe buff it a little too, it seems a bit unfairly hated vs the Visored and Masked Helmets, and they all are compared to the (Hidious) Samurai Helmet. I'm okay with the wing flares, but the bug face on it is just NO for me.. That said, of course I have like 10 of the things.....
