It's a casino in the swamp, held by the local equivalent of the mafia, and by Hivers (IE greedy).
They don't even explain you the rules.

In short, you are getting scammed. Essentially it's random. You can earn 200, and if you are lucky 600, but most of the time you'll lose.

The strategy is not to play, or trust your luck. But for 600 cat as "jackpot" I wouldn't try.

Not really a scam. Theres gotta be some sort of strategy. I made a profit of 1200 cats from randomizing stuff.

Yeah, there are ways to game it. I spent about 100,000 cats when it first came out "learning" the system.

Found the right answers to pick for the highest win chances. Now it's essentially a money cheat...

But that's all there is to the game, memorizing the answers. So I won't spoil it. ;)

I spent a few hours on it, and honestly I would have better spent my time mining the nearby copper and selling it off. Also saying it’s a money cheat is a bit of a stretch, the key word is “highest chance” not absolute. And even knowing how this part works, I fished with boxum red and five times in a row got a wolf tail so there’s definitely a random element in there.
It’s a bit tough to explain, but here we go…

There are two types of gibberish, key phrases and filler:
Filler examples:
Pinching the cotton
Holding the knockers
Flashing the bug eye
(Many more)

Key phrases:
1) Wolf tail
2) Boxum red
3) Chubby nine
4) Stone roller
5) Hungry gutter
6) Arrow to the neck
7) A plank

What you’re trying to do is a game of higher or lower. With the numbering scheme above you can be “dealt” one of the phrases 2-6.
-If you select “fish” you’ve bet that the next phrase will be higher than the one you were dealt.
-If you select “rollback” you’ve bet that the next phrase will be lower than you were dealt.
-The third option which varies but is more of a snide remark, randomly selects “fish” or “rollback” for you.

*Notes:
-You cannot be dealt “wolf tail” or “a plank”
-There is a seventh key phrase called “steam roller” but I’ve only seen it after being dealt “hungry gutter” and opted to roll back and won, so value wise it’s something less than 5.
-Jackpot only appears when dealt “boxum red” or “arrow to the neck”. So if you were dealt “arrow to the neck”, selected “fish” and “a plank” came next, then you’d get the jackpot of 600.
-I didn’t notice a pattern in key phrases as they appeared.
-I didn’t see any way of piecing together the filler lines to predict key phrases, nor would it make sense as the fillers appear right before the key phrases and there isn’t a chance for the player to do anything until after the phrase is received.

Summary: It’s a game of higher or lower, it’s cute but not very deep. The random element makes it so you’re not going to get rich on this one. (unless I completely missed something)

No, it's not very deep. Just a bit of a random chance game. But imo it is definitely a bit cheaty when it comes to money production. All you need is a couple thousand cats to spare and you can multiply it risk free using this game once you know what options to select (E.G. Fish with a Buxom Red and you've got a 78% chance of winning 200 Cats).

None of it is 100% chance to win, but the you WILL win your money back and more if you continue long enough. And it's trivially easy to remember the right option once you know them, and in my experience you'll make several hundred cats per minute at least. Not to mention, time does not pass while gambling (so no hunger), and it is completely safe to do as no hostiles can attack you. It is a far more efficient method of generating cats in the early game than mining.

Honestly, imo the casino owners should get upset if you win too often. It would remove the ability to scam money out of it, and makes sense given these guys are just criminals trying to squeeze money out of drunk customers.

Got the general gist of it more or less. Thanks.
