Buying domesticated bull?
how do you buy one if you play a game where you have -100 rep with holy nation? i tried dressing up in paladin gear to see if it would be a disquise but wasnt, havent tried to get priest outfit yet to see if that would work. i'm assuming there are other options to get bulls and or garus when eastern part of map opens

Use monk's (those guys in orange, that follow paladins) gear instead. Last time I played it was considered as disquise.

You should use the disguise of an allied faction, not the ones from the faction you try to infiltrate. For example, use a slaver outfit, they are friendly with HN. A paladin disguise will not even get you close to a patrol before they start screaming.

Also, I think one of the stats (thievery ? Stealth ?) increase your odd of success (check the tooltip). You just need 1 guy to buy the bull.

i wonder if being of a race they approve of helps a disguise? /holy accepts the ~black people but they are more suspicious of them based on dialogue when talking to them sometimes

/obviously trying to disguise a race that isnt human probably negates the outfit

Race has no effect on the diguise. In fact, the Holy Nation won't blink twice at a Skeleton wearing a disguise of their ally...

is that the best example? A skeleton cant even wear a helmet so no disguise should work for them imo

at least against a faction that hates skeletons outright

edit: devs shouldnt allow a skeleton to wear an effective disguise against holy nation

To be fair, the lack of a helmet significantly decreases the effectiveness of a disguise. But can still hold if you're lucky.

But yeah, I feel like they should be able to see your race through your disguise. Like, they're not going to notice all the horns on a Shek or something?

Lol the Kenshi forum answers my questions before I even need them

Have I missed a change or something?

I've never needed a disguise to buy animals, just wait until no patrols are around and run in and buy them.

how cool woulkd it be for some ~shek mission to have to have their horns cut off in order to pull of a disguise for infiltration

slavers do that to shek dont they?

got a monk disquise and was able to purchase a bull, 60% to not get discovered. bad luck had a group of escaped servants mutilate the livestock during the night before i could buy so i had a choice between 2 broken legs or one lol. made for a slow trip back
