The Bugmaster! Question about turn-in. (Semi-spoilery material)
Just had an epic time battling the bugmaster. Took in just under 30 guys in their mid-30-40s in high level gear, including a few bulls and bonedogs, and a group of Tech Hunter mercenaries. After an intense trek to the base of the tower, I left the mercs to their doom fighting wave upon wave of spiders as my squad carried the crippled members of my team to the top of the tower.

The Bugmaster was tough! He one-shot killed one of my bulls and severely injured a few squad members before I got a sequence of hits in and knocked him out. Looted an amazing Saber and took a few of his many, many "treasures" for laughs. Extracting him was even harder with all of my wounded party members but I ultimately made it out of Arach!

This brings me to my question: I saw a post from about a month ago saying he can be turned in for reputation. When I took him to Last Stand, the shek there told me to take him to The Stone Golem and Bayan in Admag. Upon reaching Admag, I got reactions from all the Shek, including Esata, however, when I try to speak to Esata with the bugmaster on my shoulder, she only snarls at me. Bayan does not have any dialogue options. Putting him in the prisoner's cage at their Faction HQ provides the bounty payout but no associated reputation gain. There seems to be no way to exchange him for rep.

Was this feature ever present or removed in preparation for the Diplomacy update? My game bugged?

Thanks!

It seems to be a bug on the latest versions. Bayan's dialog doesn't seem to be triggering correctly. Took a quick look at the dialog, but nothing jumps out at me as being wrong. But it is also unfinished dialog, so it cannot be expected to work 100% yet.

For now you'll just have to do without the relation boost, or hold onto him until it gets fixed.

I thought i remember seeing a shek (probably queen lady?) speak up about how i was supposed to talk to a certain guy (who was sleeping in a bed nearby lol) about turning the bug master in

its been weeks since i did that, but im pretty sure i didnt put him in a cage before talking to someone about how i captured him (not even sure if i put him in the cage or he was ~handed over to the dude), but i got the relationship boost plus the money and a princess out of it

I'm putting all this sort of stuff off until the game is complete.

Want to explore the rest of the map before I throw my hat in with any particular major faction

you can also get 300k cats for him too. if you hapened to save and exit the game after turning him in , the police chief will let him go after loading back in and you can capture him again and take him to one of the other factions wanting him. rinse and repeat for the last faction. its because even tho they are supposed to hold him forever, his bounty with that faction is over and they release him cause they have no reason to hold him anymore. same works for the other major bounties.

I reiterate what I said in the last topic that poped up. Right now diplomacy is not fully functional (far from it). Delivering important people and bounties to some faction will be a part of said diplomacy update.
I will wait for the diplomacy patch to be implemented in its fullest to do it. Right now, you open your save to have trouble later down the road, ranging from small bugs to not having all the reward and so on.

Eventually that's your game, but this is work in progress on an early access game game. In short, unstable.

Had the exact same thing happen to me. I happily put him in a cage and collected the bounty though! :special:
