Swamp Tower, early starter base? (Slight Spoiler)

So, around 10 days in and boasting a decent sized group with alright combat skills, went off on an adventure to discover things and came across the robot known as Burn, who had retired in an old tower in the middle of the Northen Swamp place where theres gaint spider tanks.

After recruiting him I was able to use quite a lot of stuff in his tower (Most importantly his beds :V) but could not build, claiming it was a town. I found this weird since hes in the party now


Is this a bug, or intended? Was trying to just place a camp fire at first, but would not mind having a personal stop up north in a place like that.

Burns' tower in the Floodlands? Good spot to rest, but it is somewhat lacking as a base. Unless you have top tier tech (hydroponics), you cannot grow food there. And, even with hydroponics you coudn't because of a bug (no fertility there) anyway before. Not sure if that jas changed yet or not.

You're better off finding a nice defensible spot with decent resources and founding your own place in the long run.

You cannot claim existing outposts currently. So it's not a bug.
