Dexterity training
This seems to be a popular topic. From what I see the only way to increase your dexterity is combat, so I'll ask a specific question: what trains dexterity up the absolute quickest? People say it's tied to the weight of the weapons, so are all one-kilogram weapons created equal in that regard? It trains up so sloooooow.

Shidan recently found that dex training is tied to the type of weapon damage, the ones with only cutting damage train faster, more if they do little damage, but I think overall unarmed is the fastest.
Edit: mistakes.
Edit 2: if you think that is slow you should see the higher levels lol, you will enjoy it.

Pretty sure its just using light weapons, so wakizashis are arguably the best at completing this task. Alternatively you can get a mod/make a mod that increases the XP rate/multiplier, although that can touch on affecting every skill and some skills have a broken scaling while others, like dexterity and most combat stats, taking ages to improve.

So size of the weapon doesn't matter directly, but I'm looking for a weapon that does only cutting damage and little of it? Is this because I get dexterity damage per hit and a light weapon will take more hits to end the fight, or do I simply get less experience per hit the more damage it does?

You get the same amount of XP, no matter the damage of your weapon, but if it's weaker you will be able to land more hits to your opponent before he dies.

the size of your weapon does not matter.
For STRENGTH training you will need to look at the weapon weight.

I disagree. Using training dummy mods, I was able to notcie all smaller light weapons affecting Dex. My katana user ended up with a ridiculous Dex in the test while Str stagnated.

That is only correlation though. Lighter weapons happen to be better at training dex in general, but it's not because they're light weapons. Blunt damage (which lowers dex xp per hit) also increases the weight of a weapon, which gives the appearance of heavier weapons giving less dex xp. But there are exceptions.

Take the Staff for instance. It has much more blunt damage on it compared to cut, while also being extremely light thanks to a modifier it has on it. It's garbage for training both dex and strength, providing pretty much no xp for either of them.

So it's a fixed amount of XP per hit, and it's reduced by dealing blunt damage with a hit?

I have no idea what the game considers the "base" xp per hit. But the fact of the matter is, a weapon that has 100% cut damage provides more xp per hit than one with 90% cut damage and 10% blunt, which give more than one with 80% cut and 20% blunt and so on.

All my tests show that more blunt damage relative to cut equals less dex xp per hit. I even made a test weapon at one point, that only had cut damage but weighed 500kg. It provided the same xp per hit as a Katana (though obviously hit much slower).

Long ago i remember reading something about weapons classes.
And the ktatana class being the best to train your dexterity.
This is easier to make rules /class than/ weapon.
More than 1 year ago?
I ran some tests and characters with katana, Nodachi, Wakizashi had a dexterity of 50 to 60
and those with heavy weapons, clubs, haker class weapons a dexterity in a range of 10 to 15..
