Shop counter
Shop counter
I have built a shop counter and turned the building and my outpost to public, why is no one coming?

The counters themselves work just fine. the issue is the scarcity of trader spawns, the routes they are programmed to follow, and the range they will deviate from said routes to access shop counters.

I use a workshop mod called wondering squads: "traders"...there is also one for recruits and mercenarys made by the same guy it works well and I seem to sell things just fine.

Just make sure you mark your town (if walled off) and shop building as public so they can get in.

Sorry was playing when I posted, if you have your town completely walled off with only a gate for entrance make sure you set the gate as public as well as leaving it open when you want traders to stop by.

You can also build the shop outside the gates. That way you can keep them closed without issues with the traders. :)

That's what I did. Having your outpost set to public will make pretty much every traders open the gate and not close it, leaving it entirely open for the random bandits. What's the point of a walled outpost if everyone can walk in ?

I built a small shack outside the wall, open to public with open doors, and the shop counter inside.

I built a Shop Counter in every major city of every faction, eleven in total and let the game run for 31 days on fastest speed setting.

This is what I stocked in shops when I built them and the Counters remain untouched by NPCs across the whole of the map.

Save is from the experimental branch with no modifications being used.

EDIT: I get the same result by using an outpost style Shop Counter in positions/locations that *should* have buisness of some sort.

same here. except the amount of shops built :-) I NEVER had anyone buying anythign at all from my shops / outposts.

so I stick to "scheduled" trading hauls.
pack a bull or two with decent stuff, assign a guard and let it roll out.

I leave with goods, and come back with recruits, blueprints, books and usually a little battle experience on the side.

Is there are specific types of goods that traders will buy? I wanted to do kinda weapon shop, so I built a shop near my outpost (marked as open), it was built on a crossroad, and I see wandering trading caravans all the time, but no one ever bought my sheet so far. :)
Btw all weapons was made by my faction, no looted items at all, and the weapon quality is pretty good. Thats kinda sad, so much time wasted for this. :)

Weapons and armour will never be bought by any NPC. If you want to sell them you have to take them to the shops directly. Which makes enough sense, random civilians nor mechants will have the need nor money for very high quality gear.
