Kenshi
Blood Spiders Swimming?
Quick question, but can blood spiders swim? I'm asking because I was running away from them and my guy tried to swim away, only for the spiders to follow me in. Not only that, but they also seem to have the same speed in water as they do on land. I'm wondering if it's a bug or something

I dont think it is a bug. They may be part water creatures and able to move quickly on/in water. Yes they do present a challenge like much of Kenshis wild life and thats a good thing it isnt all easy mode.

Also it is really nice there are some creature that are just doing their own thing and not trying to kill the player. So many games go out of their way to present an entirely hostile ugly world to players.

All animals currently just walk on the bottom of the lake/ocean/river when they enter. I assume this is due to the lack of animations for swimming currently, and will probably be addressed in the future.

Alrighty, just wondering, cause I personally think that's kinda bs. No rush on you guys, though. I'll just avoid lakes and bodies of water when running from creatures

My skeletons take point in water areas so they can protect the swimmers (as they can fight in water). The strategy works well.

That does sound like a good strategy. Too bad my Skeleton died recently :steamsad:

Also if you have a bull or dog, they may not win the fight but you can use them as a decoy to buy your swimmers time to get to shore. Patching up the bull or dog after the fight is better than your swimmers getting trounced to death.

That also sounds good. Sadly, I'm short on funds. Perhaps I should save up to buy recruits or bulls

I don't want to spoil anything but fyi there are some unique recruits that will join you for free. They're usually in the same locations. One is a Skeleton :)

I know the one about the Skeleton. Burn, right? I recruited him, but he died :'(
Stormbrooke Apr 12, 2017 @ 11:08pm
Yeah that was him. =/

Could always import if you really wanted him back, else I think it was Shark that often has a bunch of Skeleton recruits in the 700 cats range.

I enjoy the visual of having a bull in the party but long run probably better to pick up a recruit instead.
Steven Spielberg Apr 12, 2017 @ 11:12pm
Yeah, probably. Oh well. I'll just earn the money somehow and recruit others

Shark has two skeletons right? Recruited them both.

Really want one more generic skeleton recruit so I can rename him and make the robot a martial-arts specialist.

I believe it's randomly generated what regular recruits you get with each city having a certain % to generate each race. I believe Shark has one of the higher %'so for skeletons. The United cities and mongrel would be other places worth checking.

I guess, it's just that their bodies don't LOOK like they can swim, or at least not that fast, but I'm not sure.
