[SOLVED] Worms Clan Wars crashes on startup

Hello,
I can't start up this game in any way. It starts up on a really low resolution and then it immediately crashes. It even crashes my whole laptop some times. My pc specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium
Intel Core i7-2670QM CPU @ 2.20Ghz
Radeon HD 6770M
8GB RAM
Does anyone know a solution? I paid €17 and I was really looking forward to this game :l

Hi jelluh24, an issue with some laptops is that it can sometimes attempt to run the game using the integrated graphics instead of your more powerful graphics card. We have a Troubleshooting Thread which has a section on this matter that you might find helpful.

If after that you're still experiencing issues then can you please send your DxDiag to [e-mail] along with a description of your exact problem and they will look into your issue.

To get your DirectX info:
1. Hold down the Windows Key and press R
2. The Run dialog should appear. Type dxdiag in the available text field.
3. Click OK
4. Click Save All Information
5. Set the Save as type to Text File (*.txt)
6. Save the file DxDiag.txt to your Desktop so it is easy to find.
7. Attach the DXdiag.txt file in an email to [e-mail]

NOTE: Please remember to tell the support team that you are having issues with Worms Clan Wars and explain what those issues are, they are receiving a lot of blank emails with only DxDiags attached. They need to know what is wrong to be able to help.

I did that, but after the request for another file in the worms directory (which wasn't there in my case), no more answers from support. I PREORDERED the game and still cant play it. Thats a shame...

Hi, i fixed the problem in a similar way, i just put all videos from

Steam\SteamApps\common\Worms Clan Wars\DataPC\Movies

into a new folder, which i created there, too. No intro video and no crash, could play the game though. Seems like a codec problem.

Deleting the movies doesn't work for me. Reinstalling the C++ redistributable doesn't work too. Game starts with a black screen for about a second and crashes immediately. Newest graphics driver installed.

Anti-Virus disabled: still crashes.
C++ redistributable 1012 installed: still crashes.

Worms revolution crashed in the same way (but it had worked a few months ago).

I have send all the information about a week ago. But I wont expect an answer this early, so I wont complain.

There are no other major issues with other titles yet. I suspect some problems with my installed C++ redistributables, but already tried to reinstall them.

Updated the graphics driver this weekend, but no change. I will try another sound card (an ASUS brand instead of my old X-Fi) in the next few days.

well... finally I solved my problem myself. I got X Rebirth today and had the same issue: crash at startup. Tried everything but nothing worked.. until I found a post that suggest to unplug all USB-joysticks. And well X Rebirth was starting.

Just after this I tried Worms too and Worms was running fine. :) So tehre seems to be an issue with my joysticks (CH gear: Fighterstick, Pro-Throttle, Pro Pedals, ...)
