Report a translation problem
That's brilliant, really. It's not getting the error trying to access other files, no. It can't access itself, and crashes for it. Never even gets started. Immediate crash. Horribly designed game. At the bare minimum, even BAD indie devs can make sure the game starts on everyone's machine. Maybe not RUN, but at least start.
Stupid. Even though it was three bucks, at this point, I just want my money back so I can deny it to the developers. I don't care about the 3 dollars, I just don't want them to have it.
It isn't that you have a problem, you report it and the next day there's a patch fixing the issue only you had. From what I've noticed new patches are like every 2-3 weeks (some add new content additionally to fixing reported bugs).
Further, I'm not just going to be patient and sit on my arse here. I paid them money, and they provided something that does not work as advertised. Either they make it work, or return my money. Don't even care which at this point.
You can still play the game on another computer or even only on another OS on the same computer, until the issue you have isn't fixed.
And as they said, this thing was programmed in an indie shop by, I believe, one guy. (I'm just talking about the programming here.) Due to the nature of PCs, it's inevitable that the program isn't going to work on some computers, and it will take them some time (and possibly money) to track down just what it is about your rig that makes the game not run.
Perhaps somebody here could help if you gave us your system specs -- CPU, video card, memory, OS, etc.?
I'm already working with the necessary parties to ensure a refund. I don't care if one guy made it, or one hundred. They put it into the Steam store. That means it should work. Ever since Greenlight, and this huge focus on indie crap, Steam's quality has gone waaaay downhill to the point that we're now subjected to games that barely work, alphas that aren't even done yet that we're expected to pay for, and things like The War Z.
Again, it's nothing to do with my machine, the application never gets started. If it crashed while running, sure, something in my setup might cause it.
But this thing is basically a glorified flash game. If it doesn't run, it's the fault of who wrote it.
Well, it runs on my machine, so clearly it has something to do with your setup, 'cause that's the only difference between what you've got and what I've got.
Yeah, excepting that any and everything else in my Steam list has not one single issue running on my PC, and it's an expansive list of games. Even Trapped Dead runs on my rig, which is saying something, because that's an atrociously badly assembled game.

So I would either look into the problem yourself or wait it out until Bossa Studios fixes your problem; because if it truly is not entirely your problem, someone else has this problem too.
