Use the needle with drugs to slow bleeding.

I mean using the laser without getting bleed to begin with

You don't.

Everything causes bleeding if you use it on flesh. The laser is only unique in that it cuts bone with zero blood loss.

it feels like the laser does alot more damage now i used it alot before in the kidney surgery and tried it again recently and now it just gets bob bleedin like crazy

I noticed that people using the laser in YouTube videos were getting dramatically less bleeding than I was getting. I wonder if it got "fixed" so that it causes more. (Which would be strange because lasers cauterize as they cut.)

It seems questions were asked at a later date than videos on youtube. Oh, and frikkin' lazers may be broken - I never touched anything but lazer and it didn't register.

So anyone got some tips for getting the laser achievement?
The bleeding is way too strong...

EDit: OK, I managed to do it after all. Moved very quickly in brain surgery and got it.

Did the frikkin lazers, figured out the problem (or so it seems):
Do NOT turn off the lazer. If you do, it seems to register as a tool and blocks achievement.
Its quite possible to do if you're extra careful, or swing it real fast. I went the careful way, trying not to hit any tissue. As long as it hits only bones, no bleeding will start.

Heya. This laser problem - sounds like a bug perhaps.

If it's still happening, can you let Matt the friendly QA tester know on surgeonfeedback@bossastudios.com

He reacts better to emails that contain pictures of otters. Just sayin'.

What exactly is a problem - laser melting tissue at high speed (insane bleeding on missions 2 and 3) or lazer button cancelling frikkin lazers achievements?
Sadly, I have 100% of achievements (took some effort) so I can't say why frikkin lazers achievement didn't register the first, second or third time. It did last time I tried it, though (didn't turn off the lazer, didn't pick anything up other than braaaaiinzz, cut it with lazer as well).

I tried doing mission 2 with lazer but my patient simply dies in very short time, I can't "burn" with laser only specific spots and use harmless light on others (by pressing a button with my finger maybe?) so trying to operate kidneys with lazer results in almost immediate death. The only way faster than that would be to drill the brain...

I've noticed that the laser now deals large amounts of damage since the A&E update. Wasn't the whole point of the laser to be more difficult to use, but dealt no damage?

While the A&E update was installing, I did the surgery and had no damage done with the laser. Now, I may as well be cracking his skull open with the hammer. It's faster, and the damage difference is negligible. I wonder if this is intentional, or if it's a bug.

I believe extra damage being intentional. It deals zero damage when you burn the bones or tissue connections with the laser, but it deals huge amounts of damage otherwise. I believe the idea behind it is correct, but the fact we can't turn laser ON/OFF with a single finger (press the button on the laser to burn, release to stop, when stopped it acts like a laser pointer) makes laser very difficult to use. At the same time, if you could turn laser on/off on the fly, you'd use it more than any tools...
Right now its a very good tool which is very tricky, during brain surgery it may hit the brain since bone pieces seem to jump off their places when damaged, causing immediate harm (and a flood of bleeding, which is the main problem). Its usable, if you're VERY careful, but operation may take 20 minutes. I find it far easier to make a powerful swing with a hammer, it typically removes the entire skull with minimal damage.

That's my problem though - when burning away only bone, the laser was dealing massive damage. I know that before, if you were very careful, you could remove the entire skull with the laser and lose no blood (since I'd done it many times). However, now that seems impossible - as soon as the laser hits bone, the blood count starts going down. That's what I was referring to.

That is certainly a bug, laser is a unique tool, capable of cutting bones without blood loss (unless it hits tissue). It should not deal any damage when it hits only bones, otherwise its pretty much useless.
I don't have DLC, so I can't test it myself, sadly.
