True melee builds are practically impossible after D90 Stage II
Love the game. I have cleared the game at D100 both acts with casters and summoners, but playing melee character in D92 act 2 is a pain and practically unplayable, even without attack slowdown. I mean playing chars with actual melee builds, not cheese builds like Kronk's Stomps and invulnerable Avaron, also not reset-scumming constantly. Nixi especially feels really bad to play, because her attack range is small and her constelarium talents are mostly weak. Seriously, she gets + 300% crit damage which sounds great until you compare her to Warchief (300% on every stomp, plus aoe, plus push back and does't slow you down)

The jackals and the wasp ladies are particulary nasty and the Djinn's flamethrower is unforgiving. Also, I feel that the 60% movement penalty for D100 cripples melee. I feel the strongest builds in the game are those who can avoid auto-attacking, like caster sand dashers. I also played before the update and feel the movement rate slows much more now when attacking, compared to what it used to be. Maybe I remember wrong. Compare Merry autocasting 26 Rays of Light and Land Slides, casually dashing to trigger her buffs to Skaldi, lol.

I also feel that pushing healing blessings in legendary tier severely limits builds when so many enemies are in essense undodgable or can strike from beyond the screen almost instantly. I'm curious to see Lady Justice's pick rate, I bet it eclipses all gods. Itemizing for melee to compensate is also harder, because you need so many different things.

So it feels harder to play melee only to underachieve other build types.

I am not insane right? Looking forward to future updates that adress these concerns.

Melee balance is really hard in almost ALL games to date. Ranged is always the way to go, unfortunately

Agreed, it's harder, but in version 1 the gap was much smaller. In fact i felt that melee was ahead.

Kront true melee auto attack build work well in d92 still
I tested it, just scale area/ atk damage/ power (for conversion)
Basically just make your melee attack cover whole screen and you're fine :3
