Insect Queen
This is meant to be seen by the devs.

This boss fight is TERRIBLY designed. It is ok that you force us to kil lthe minions first before hitting the boss... but it is not acceptable that the minions stay outside of the bossrom for 99% of the fight becoming unreachable for any melee character/build.

Basically this boss fight means a slow and misserable death to any melee build.

We probably won't be returning to old acts for some time but I'm hoping we can polish a lot of the visual, data and other issues with some monsters eventually.

We should make those healers not leave the arena before then though, as a quick fix. Thx for the reminder, I'll put it somewhere in the to-do this time

You are not forced to kill minions, just do enough damage to make healing irrelevant. If you move into center of the room, they will follow you, you should learn how bosses behave.

Git gud and stop blaming the game.

naw this boss is terrible for melee builds. it is always the scariest part of playing my avoron power build. the minions do nee to die unless you have insane dps at highter darkness. my only melee build that can dps the boss down while ads are up is my nixi poison build.

Since it is my first run in ACT2 i don't really have many good tier 2 items and I struggled a lot with this boss with Kront. I refuse to believe there was a way to outdamage that healing, it is mathematical impossible.

So yea maybe I need to git gud but has nothing to do with designing a boss that annihiliates melee builds.

And no, moving to the center of the room does nothing, once you chase them they quickly get out of bounds, the only way would be to have a lot of freeze stuff in your build.

Maybe you should abstain from claims like "mathematically impossible". Because it's not. Even if you don't have many or even any t2 items, it's not that hard to build your character so insect queen doesn't feel more than a slight speedbump. Especially on D0 which i assume you are playing.

It doesn't, it just annihilates crap builds.

If you are willing to bet actual money i can just delete all my progress and make a video about Avaron, straight from Act 1, killing insect queen, showing that what you think is "mathematically impossible" is actually piss easy.

You do realize this game has below average skill celling for a roguelike right? All you do as a player is pretty much running around looking for perma upgrades, game is more RNG based on getting good combination of offers early on, not much to do with skill or being good or bad.

Valid criticism is saying that a bad combination of RNG offers can wipe you on this boss because minions become unreachable for pure melee builds.

i had the same problem with kront. then i realised the knockback effect from talents and krom buffs was too much for this fight. my attacks worked to push those healers out of the arena. so no/less knockback, no problem. figuring out workarounds instead of expecting the game to be a unilateral experience is more fun in my opinion. after all, a lot hinges on chance and luck in the game. cheers.
