Traveler - WTF does he do?

Getting a bit frustrated but can't find any info on what he actually does when you unlock the rune things either in game, or via google or on these forums - so figured I'll ask. What does he actually do, what do those runes unlock when you buy them, and same for the chests?

Chests are literal chests added behind the Shopkeeper for extra storage. I think it's kind of weird that there is not one for each character.

Mimic bags are load-out pages for each character's equipment; "Well, this is my Strike load-out and this one is for Dashes!" You can find them on the side of a character's equipment tab.

Runes are the same, but for talent tree load-outs. They're found on the side while looking at the talent tree.

Havent played for a while so I jumped into the game to check out the new stuff
The first tab unlocks item loadouts for the characters
The second tab is talent loadouts
third tab gives more chests for storage
