How does luck works?
Title. I'm very clear on the fact that it doesn't affects loot drop chances or quality, but for the rest I'm a little unsure and I'd like some clarity.

I'm about 90% certain that the tooltip says that it essentially gives %-based skills and item effects a higher chance to occur (say an attack has 20% chance to proc, and you have 10% luck, then it increases it). I'm just not sure yet if it's multiplicative (10% luck then boosts the 20% chance to 22%) or additive (20% becomes 30%).

I just did a few runs and the additive result on some skills should've put the proc chance of many effects well over 60-70%, but I could only just proc every couple of hits. It happened more often than before, for sure, but not as much as I'd hoped, which is why I'm a little confused. Maybe it's just a %-based proc without any odds-balancing safeguard (like adding an invisible % of chance if the previous proc failed) and RNG just sucks sometimes. Still, I think we could benefit from clearing out any doubts about what it properly does.

I'm sorry to bump the thread but I need to know too

Certain skills, traits, and items have different coefficients on how Luck effects them. Even with 150% luck. Certain Skills, Traits, and items may only raise the chance of the proc happening by 10%. Others by more.

Cooldown is kind of similar. You can have 50% Cooldown, but certain trait's, skills, and items proc that has cooldowns won't go down by a full 50%.

I'm not sure what the exact numbers are for if you have X luck, how that effects every single proc chance thing in the game. Imo there needs to be a change to make luck to make effect proc chance things in the game happen more often. Feels bad when you have gear that has 100+ luck, but the chance to proc doesn't go up that much.

It's kind of sad. Luck used to be really strong in the earlier versions of the game. Back when Serendipity was a Mort passive and Soulstealers nuked everything. Once Act 2 dropped. Luck doesn't feel worth to have. Even after they made some changes to it. There are only certain niche things I can think of where having Luck feels good in the current state of the game.

ehhh, I play strike everytime (Skadi & Nixi) because I love too much (never cast and sometimes power) and looks like have luck it's realy great but like you said, every spell is different

Tbh, with your second answer, will try with lower luck to see a difference or not

Thanks again :)

If you like Strikes. Try Strikes that proc after you attack a certain amount of times. My favorites on Skadi are Sickle of Mort and Shuriken. Very strong strike spells that don't need luck. I clear Darkness 90 pretty easily with Skadi with those 2 Strikes. I don't use others because those 2 are that good.

I'm pretty sure it has always been multiplicative

Sickle of mort need attack, that's why I play luck for proc every strike needed luck and not attack (or maybe i'm dumb)

But I will try because... Skadi > all :necroheart::necroheart:

Thanks for the link too

In regards to Skadi. If you get the Wanderer talent. (Best Cap talent imo) Leveling up your attack skill, and sickile of mort will do a lot of damage. Keep in mind Sickle of mort can also proc your other strikes.

If you Need more DmD info. Gaming with Jeff's Discord is a great place to ask questions. The user that made the link I posted (Fluffy) Is a DmD Data fiend. They know almost anything you could ever want to know about the game.

Also Skadi is my fav too! Just Wish she would get a talent tree rework.
