What causes the Flying Carpet to not work?

Just had a run where on the first boss encounter I could move through the black fire border, but on the 2nd encounter with the Cursed, I wasn't able to leave the black fire. And each boss encounter thereafter I also was not allowed to leave the black fire.

Is this a bug or there another reason why this happens? I've been using the item for a few days and haven't had this happen yet.

You're not supposed to move through the black fire - it's there to limit your movement.

Yes but the Flying Carpet unique mythic item allows you to do this

Just happened again! First boss battle and with flying carpet equipped, I couldn't traverse the black fire.

Anyway, I have had this happen. If you unequip it, unpause, then equip it you can walk through the fire again as a workaround for now.

It maybe coincidence but the Flying Carpet didn't work on a run when I took the dash skil, Ball Lightning. If this is the case, it would have something to do with the character transforming and not retaining the functionality of the relic.
