This stupid thing with the red gem really sucks
Having to run back to that gem all the time is so stupid

Can you explain what the red gem does? I saw it pop up, but couldn't figure out if it's just a regular XP shard or what? Or if I picked it up some how?

The red gem collects all your exp drops even the blue ones, so you have to run back and pick it up.
I dont really know why or how it starts happening.

Starts happening when there's too much EXP on the ground in your run I assume. It's the only logical explanation. Similar to the one in Vampire Survivors.

It's a good thing to have but I feel like they should just buff the magnet effect of the Time skills by at least 30% per rarity. Many builds literally just walk around collecting shrines instead of collecting gems on the ground and most people run low magnet too.

The gem/magnet gameplay just doesn't add anything to the game. Time is the only blessing that elevates what you can do with gems, but it's not much. I've never liked collecting gems in these types of games to level and have never felt that it adds any interesting gameplay. If not for Time and Gem High, as well as Force, the gems in this game would be as thimble deep as the gems in any other game. The point of xp gems always seems to be to force relevance onto a magnet stat. It's boring.
