I'd just sit back and wait.
These types of games are never super hard but can be on the harder side when you progress to higher stages. (See Soul Stone Survivors or Halls of Torment, even tho HoT is easier than Soul Stone Survivors late game)
Plus we don't know if higher stages will have the same modifiers when you up the difficulty. Difficulty upgrades could do something completely different from what we are used to on stage 1.
I'm sure there will be tasks (achievments) that are pretty hard later on when we have more content, like the not taking damage for a whole run challenge thing.
The movement penalty when attacking is always the reason why I die.
I don't think you can win with any build. I would wager you will have a very rough time if you go like ice/fire/lighting lol.
Gear does scale you out of some difficulty but that is fine to an extent. Expect the next levels to be much harder.
The game was a lot harder on release but people cried and it got nerfed.
There is no achievement for winning at lvl 30 but based on the achievements he has he has only beaten the baron with 1 character and probably only done it one time. He has 10 hours of play and it was 2 days after he first played the game when he beat the baron so its not likely that his story is true. That would be 30+ full runs and as we all know a lot of runs don't last the full 20 minutes so he has played likely 30-50 runs and only beat the baron one time.
He said he plays nixi but he has most achievements for skadi and kront unlocked so he spent quite a bit of time on both those characters as well.
If I had to guess the majority of his runs are losses. He probably got super lucky and beat the game once and probably not at level 30 and has been unable to repeat that success since then.
I'd believe him if he had more achievements but he's far from having them all and he only beat the Baron with... a single character. Had everything except grasshopper 9 hours in.
