Clothing need out of control
The issue I'm having is I can't seem to get my clothing need down it's slowly increasing making it impossible to make a low danger prision as the clothing need just goes up and up. I have large laundrys each with a capacity of 20 workers. I put 20 in each they just mill around in the laundry. If I reduce it to less still the same probelm. I added about 8 extra laundrys and that made no difference either. They just don't work in the laundry over work hours.

I also bought about 50 janitors and they don't seem to work in the laundry either. They just spend the whole time cleaning.

Is there a work around for this bug?
If anyone has any tips please let me know.

Thanks

Are there any empty laundry bins in the room? You need to place a lot of them in there if the laundry room is servicing a lot of cells/reception. If there are no bins or they are all full, buy another 5 or 10 and see if that does the trick. Also, is there enough labor to fill the rooms? Are the prisoners populating the rooms during work hours if there are enough to work there? Check by hitting the prison labor and see if those white circles are turning orange.

Also check your logistics and make sure the laundries are servicing the cell blocks

Yes there are empty bins.
All the bins are empy and there are probably close to 15 bins per laundry (heaps they fill up almost half of a 12x12 room).
There is certianly enough labour for the rooms there are about 20 prisioners per room all "working" and their little circles are turning orange.
They come to work then jsut stand around in the laundry room.
Logisitics is set as well. I let it be set by AI doesn't work. I manually set it still no difference.

Try reloading the saved game. Maybe it will push them to work. Thats a tough one, it may be a bug. Do the laundry workers have access to the cells they are supposed to be servicing both physically and also deployment wise ie max security workers are not trying to service a minimum security area? I'm reaching here and I'm sure they do but I figured I'd throw out some possibles. Oh, tables, do you have tables? You need the iron board, laundry bins, the washer machine, and tables. It used to require one I don't think it does anymore but I don't think the room works right without one.

You mentioned piles of clothes, so just double checking you have plenty (5ish) laundry machines, and ironing boards (4ish) in addition to the baskets. If you do, try dumping all your uniforms that are laying around. There seems to be some wierd issues that cause prisioners to not touch/deliver uniforms that are set as a sec lvl the workers can't deliver.

I'd... just really recommend waiting till bugbash time, i've seen the laundry issue with pretty much everyone and their mothers.

I have the same problem - and after several prisons, it's the first time I've seen this. But it isn't the laundry, it's the prisoners.

I discovered this when I switched cell blocks for different sec level prisoners. The max sec prisoners weren't doing laundry and kept complaining about the lack of clothes. I tried moving their laundry room, rebuilding it, changing the equipment, etc., but to no avail. All the logistics and paths were fine. The supermax guys, however, in their own cell block were doing their laundry perfectly, but since I only had a few of them (and they deserve permanent lockdown anyway), I decided to swap the max and supermax cell blocks.

Guess what? After the switch, the max prisoners, now in the former supermax cell block, still didn't do their laundry, while suddenly, the supermax prisoners (now in the max cell block) worked that laundry just fine.

So the problem isn't the laundry or the logistics. It's just a bug affecting the prisoners. If I could fire them, I would and get new max prisoners to see if they have the same problem, but obviously I can't do that.

Yea the laundry worker have access to the cells they are working in.
Have already tried reloading the save game and varifying the games intergirty.
They haven't got tables but they have ironing boads and washing machines.
There doesn't seem to be enough clothes fullstop in my prison dirty or clean don't know why that is.

Put a couple of tables in - it wasn't documented, but laundries do basically need to have tables right now.
