In saying that it answer how long the game will take because honestly that is entirely up to you. You could prolly speed through the game in several hours ( a guess since I don't honestly know how short it would be) or you could search for everything significantly increasing the length of the game.
So for a linear point and click adventure story game it is great. It is up there, in my opinion, along with Bioshock Infinite in excellent presentation. I am having a lot of fun taking my time finding as much as I can do as well as I can without errors figuring out the clues etc and just taking in the atmosphere of the game. To some they would say the game has to many bugs etc and the first day DLC really upset some people but I do not think it is that big of a deal.
I like it (or at least I don't dislike it) but I like a slow thoughtful game Vs twitch murder, so I'm more suited to it.
It definately DOES have some nice ideas.. however I think it's the length that I am going to be most unhappy about.. it's only suposed to be about 10 hrs.. which I PERSONALLY think is ATROCIOUS for a full priced game WITH ABSOLUTELY NO REPLAY VALUE, once you know the story and the answers there's no reason to ever play it again.. and that sucks hairy chubbies... I know other people won't be bothered or will feel that it's a fine length.. but I certainly don't, and I think it shows a certain amount of distrespect from the dev to expect their audience to be content with a paultry 10 hr game... ESPECIALLY the fact that it's VERY MUCH a narrative led game and there are unreasonable amounts of nuance completely missing from it.
I wonder how much they chopped out of it for DLC?... WHICH I AM NOT BUYING BTW!
