BUG: Stuck in Clues/Cases-Menu

Hi everyone,

first off all, I must get something out my chest before I burst, and I think its a shame because I was really looking forward to this game: This is a very very bad console port in terms of controls and navigating the menus, haven't seen something that bad in a title from prestiged developers like Squareenix in a long time. It really feels like nobody did even try to care... pity...

Now, to my problem: Since meeting the little girl at the beginning, every time I enter the "Clues/Cases" menu with the TAB key and look at some information (like details on any quest or ability) I can't exit the menu afterwards. In fact, most of the time the information is not even shown when I left-mouse-click and at some point none of the keys work anymore. Can't switch tabs with the 1/3 keys, or abilities with Q/E or, and this is the worst, exit the menu with ESC.

I am stuck in this menu and I have to kill the process. Tried mashing every key on my keyboard twice, not the slightest thing happens.

Did anyone experience something similar? If so, is this fixable?

Hi,

It was Airtight Games who developed the game, Square Enix published it. Just saying.

Anyway, I got the same problem, and it would greatly improve the game experiance if this issue could get resolved.

That is very strange, never had that problem happen to me. was it only at that point where it starts bugging or does it continue after you meet the girl? Either tab or esc can be used to leave the case menu. try using tab and see if that helps.


just to test,are you in the same spot when you started having the bug all the times you have tried it? or did you move to a different spot then open the case menu?

Note: I have noticed sometimes when i open case menu you have to wait a second or two to move the mouse up and down to select different evidence or cases

Ah yup, i understand you now.....i just got the bug awhile ago except i was in a differnt location... you were right.........i was able to move the mouse up and down but could not exit or switch tabs and use any of the buttons to access cases.

It's weird, isn't it? I tried contacting Support, but they answered me with a default message and request bunch of info about my machine that doesn't matter anyway from a developers point of view. I played a few hours since, but not any further.... pity, I really like the game. I constantly have to exit the game and re-do the same things over and over, hoping that the menus won't "freeze me" :(

Never experienced this issue at all...then again I'm also using a controller.

I am having the same issues sometimes, stuck in the case menus or i click on the correct assessment and it won't let me move on.

Same here, but this happens not only in clues menu, but in any other gameplay menu.

Same problem for me as well. Have given up opening the tab menu since I always get stuck and then have to Ctrl, Alt, Delete to get out and then have to restart the game again.

Well, unfortunately there has never been any sort of patch for this, so.... sadly, people having this problem either have to cope with it and do a 'stop-and-go' playthrough, or have to realize that their cash's turned into thin air.

Since the developer has gone defunct by now and Squarenix probably won't throw any more money into the project, I think there will never be a solution to this.

Drat. Happened to me there when I was in the Asylum. I can highlight the clues one the menu screen I am on but left clicking just makes it flash and nothing more. Q,E,1,3,Esc does nothing. Too scared to go into the menu now.

I had the same problem. I turned off vsync in the game's options menu, and it fixed being stuck. Some clues still cannot be viewed by left-clicking. Press return instead.
