Blood Dragon crashes on startup
Just got new PC running Windows 11 Pro and installed Blood Dragon. When I try to start the game, the Ubisoft Connect app starts up, then I see the little Blood Dragon splash window, then the game just doesn’t start.

Please help get the game working; it’s one of my favorite games and I’m looking forward to finally being able to play with all the visual bells and whistles turned up to the max.

Hello MutoidMan,

Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear that you are unable to start your game.

Can you please confirm if you tried running it with the compatibility mode, by any chance?

Secondly, can you please try the troubleshooting steps {リンクが削除されました}? It will help to eliminate any potential software conflicts.

Many thanks and if you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Same here. Tried the compatibility options and nothing changed. Error message 730 if I try and launch it from steam or Ubi Connect.
Like the OP I have a brand new Windows 11 PC. All updated.

Also getting error 740 now.
To clarify:
>Press Play in UbiConnect > Error "Cannot execute... Please make sure [file] exists"
>Press Play in steam - Same as above.
> Open .exe directly - Splash screen appears but game fails to start,

I have uninstalled the game and Ubi Connect (for the 4th time). Compatiblilty for WIn8 and Win XP don't work.
It works perfectly on my Windows 10 PC. I have checked reg entries to see if there's something different, but everything looks ok.
To my mind, this is a configuration issue somewhere, rather than a technical bug - The game is trying to run, but cannot find it's own executable. Somewhere the paths, or how the OD in Win11 have changed from Win10.
I am currently installing my Steam library on a new Windows 11 PC. I started at 007 Legends and am working my way through the alphabet. So far, I have managed to get 54 games running perfectly. Far Cry Blood Dragon is the only one that, so far, has failed.
I can't even pin it down to a problem with Ubi Connect, because I have already successfully installed AC II and AC Syndicate and they work perfectly.

I've tried a few other things and it's still not working. So far the only game to have failed to migrate from Windows 10 to a new Windows 11 PC!
Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon has 2 issues (outside of the launcher being messed up the other day)
1) D3D11 issue
2) 53 - 57 files failed to install / download

it can take over 10 attempts and sometimes requires Steam Support intervention to get the game to download and install properly

i know this because i am having to re-install again for the umpteenth time due to new hardware

Thanks for the heads up. Could you post your specs pls so we can see if there’s a common denominator?
current
computer specs:
motherboard: Gigabyte B450M DS3H V2
CPU: Ryzen 5 3600
ram: Corsair Vengeance 3600mhz 16gig
drives: Crucual P1 500gig, WD USB3 4TB
Operating System: Linux Mint Debian Edition 5 + proton 7.0-6

i dont know why the area/storage that holds this particular game for download is messed up... its the only one ( that i have ) that does it consistently.
1) loses launcher
2) d3d11 exception error
3) file intregrity fail

other far cry games i have that generally work out of the box ( launcher issues aside )

- Far Cry 3

- Far Cry 5

Thanks very much for the info.
Blood Dragon is the only one of 130 steam games that has failed to migrate to Win11, so there’s obviously something not quite stable about it!
Try right clicking on both fc3_blooddragon.exe and fc3_blooddragon_d3dll.exe, go to Properties and set them both to run in compatibility mode for Windows 98/Me. That worked for me.

Thanks for the tip, but I have tried that and it didn’t work for me.

It’s an issue with multi core processors that Ubisoft has said will not be fixed.
Even though the games are still available to buy.
Does the new pc have a new intel processor? It's not a problem with AMD, or Windows 11 (it all works perfectly for me with 5600x and Win 11)
im running full amd system ryzen 5 3600 and it has always had the corrupt file issue
