Far Cry® 3 Blood Dragon
"There is a problem connecting to a Uplay Service". Can't register; can't play.
three days ago, i purchased blood dragon. two days ago, i tried to launch blood dragon, but had a plethora of problems with Uplay ranging from not being able to login, not being able to updated, to not being able to connect to the servers. these issues led me to countless uninstallations and installations on multiple harddrives, forwarding ports and editing the host file, all to no avail. this led me to believe that this was something on their end.
but still, three days later, i receive the error "There is a problem connecting to a Uplay Service. We'll restore the connection as soon as we can". soon is not soon enough, i was brought up on the humble ideal that something that you pay money for should be immediately accessible to the consumer, but apparently Ubisoft's a little rusty in the business department.
does anyone know what i can do to play my game?

i was having a problem with all that stuff, what got mine to work was checking my settings on Uplay and un-checking the "Use proxy to connect to the internet" in settings. works like a charm now

Thank you sooooooo much this worked for me!!!!:tgrin: Only took a couple of hours of searching for a solution.:cfacepalm: DRM on top of DRM is sooooooooo awsome.:eh:
fixed my problem by unchecking the "Use proxy to connect to the internet" box in settings I suggest trying that out
This worked for me as well. Sometimes the easy solutions are the best it seems. Thanks!

Thank you so much, this worked for me! :steamhappy:
So my friend and I were running into this issue when trying to install Farcry 4 and play together. Turns out, the uplay client steam installed for him is completely outdated and incompatible with communicating with Ubisoft's servers. In conclusion, try reinstalling the uplay client DIRECTLY from ubisoft. Hopefully that works for you.!
I had the *exact* same problem. Far Cry 4 through Steam gave the uPlay error of unavailable service. Only through this post did it dawn that the Steam provided uPlay client might be out of date.

A 'fresh' client from Ubisoft solved it for me too. Steam should look into this.
I have found the solution, as I see that other people have come to the same conclusion. The problem: The version that steam installs is an older version that isn't updated through the ubisoft servers. Therefore, you can 'log-in' online but not see any of your games and get the error message: can't connect to uplay service- or something along those lines. The fix is to go to into your install folder (Program Files>Ubisoft>UbisoftGameLauncher) and launch the uninstall.exe. Then, go to the uplay site and download the client direct from the website and launch. You will instantly be able to see the difference and why it wasn't previously working. Uplay will patch itself and be ready to go; already recognizing your installed games, achievements and blah blah blah. Technically I guess this would be a steam issue. The install files that are included with some games on steam(AC:BF for me) seem to be horribly outdated. I've had no issue with uPlay after doing this. Oh and the whole, "uncheck the box allowing uplay to use a proxy connection" didn't really fix the problem either.
I had the same problem, but was able to solve it by simply uninstalling Uplay and install the most recent version directly from its website. It seems to me that Steam installs an outdated version which probably causes this problem.
Yeah, that seems to be working better for me, as well... which is ridiculous, since the UPlay client should keep itself updated. This was such an obvious thing that it never even occurred to me that it wouldn't until I saw the comment, here. Ubi seriously needs to get their act together.
Here's what worked for me.

I was running Uplay version 4.something. I just downloaded version 15 lol.
i have the same problem with the crew wild run
