a) wouldn't take 8 days to reply
b) you would say it the first time
So, I am stubborn but to reasonable degree. And this is not it.
And I didn't lose anything. Like I said, played the game and enjoyed every minute of it. And I know Uplay was mandatory then.
I do not want to make you angry. The offer to help is still there. It really really is.
In response to "If you had an intention to help..."
Sorry for being a busy person. I am a public safety helicopter pilot and sometimes work 16 hour days. I am also busy in the beta testing and modding communities. As well as playing several different games and simulators myself. (Hint: This is not the only thread I am checking on.) I post my experience, information, and assistance, and try to get back if I can.
I did imply the offer to help anyone. (Having to quote myself is somewhat strange, but apparently necessary.)
-- "There are several threads out there to tell you how to bypass the use of it if you really feel it's an annoyance."
That statement right there would imply that I know where the information is, and that you can ask me. I was hoping most people could figure that out. As I said, I am very busy. If I would have directly offered assistance, I would never be able to respond to all the requests. So I offer what information I can, in great detail. For most people, that's usually all they need. To those who deem it important enough to ask anyway, then I try to help If I can. Point is, if I did not want to help, I would not have posted such a long informational post for everyone to understand Uplay better.
Also, I am sorry I was under the impression that you played it recently because your question was posted on 14-07-20, not "years ago". So that made me think you were having the problem now.
I have no desire to waste anyone's time, and that's why I keep my questions simple and to the point. Hold no ill feelings towards you or anyone in that manner, so I wish you the best with your work.
Quoting posts is a great way to keep things in check. Sometimes can be hard to browse Steam.
No, I played a lot of Ubisoft's older games like Prince of Persia, first Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and this one. Just because I played it, and I'm a big fan of 80s action films (which this game is filled with references) I wanted to get it on Steam. As I don't use any other platform except one for League Of Legends, I'm not keen in getting another one.
Either way, it's not you duty to respond on something Ubisoft crew could easily solve.
Anyway, that's all for now. Until next time, see you.
You can always download a copy from FitGirl's repacks. I've been following her for years. Her distributions are not considered "pirated" because she actually pays for the games. And in the case of Ubisoft games she then uses her amazing skills to mod it and then repackage it without Uplay.
Or you could always try this...

Not sure how legal or reliable it is though.
Thank you for giving a solution. I'll check both to see which one gives the best results. Ridding on a lazor Dino while War is playing in the background is a highlight of this game. Or trickster Darling.
On a serious note, Ubisoft should change their policy towards Steam users. If you have one version the other is obsolete.
I prefer keeping as little services I can.
It's your taste. You find enjoyment in it. For me, it's totally different story. That's why all Ubisoft games I own, either on DVD or Steam, does not require Uplay.
And, I don't mind DRM stuff like Denuvo (as long as my games are usable after they end their service and not lost forever) as long as I don't need to make gazzilion accounts to play them.
Don't have many so I keep them tight. Social media included.
As per the Terms of Use[legal.ubi.com], Ubisoft do reserve the right to deletion for accounts inactive for more than 6 months.
This however, is only following a notification to the account owner, which you can respond to and deny the deactivation if you so wish. This is not a guaranteed automatic process, so accounts won't just be being closed without you knowing.
If you have any further concerns regarding this, please feel free to contact us through our Support Site[ubi.li] or Facebook[ubi.li] and Twitter[ubi.li] where we'd be happy to assist with any further questions you may have about the current Terms of Use.

I didn't say they are or are not an evil dictator, simply stating that I don't want to have tonnes of services for small number of things I may or may not use.
Basically.
