How come if it's UBI's money it's not my game? Too bad, I liked the game too but it's uninstall time I think. Maybe i'll torrent a cracked version.
UBIsoft is dead to me.
It will always be a failure if it only offers UBIsoft games unlike Steam. It's ill conceived DRM at best.
I made a shortcut on my desktop with the following command line:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon\bin\fc3_blooddragon.exe" "-uplay_steam_mode"
This is pertaining to my system of course, you would have to adjust to your directory structure. This starts up Blood Dragon without having Steam started, and goes directly to the game. I also have the uPlay client set to always start in offline mode, works a treat.
- UPlay doesn't have ANY advantages compared to steam. So WHY do I have to install it?
- You have to register to another "service" - no additional use, but another service that can be hacked.
- UPlay crashes sometimes. At least on my PC. After that also most games stop working. Since it even crashes sometimes when no game is running, it's not the game's fault. Steam works just fine.
- Remember Settlers 7? Always On even in single player. But Ubisoft underestimated the number of players. So the game stuttered. If it could connect to a server.
Pro:
There is no pro about Uplay. Especially if you bought a game on steam. But a lot of con's. And that's the reason why Ubisoft deserves the hate for UPlay.
I feel you on this, i really do..
This game is the first ubisoft game I play in 8 years, I didn't know about uplay, I don't have an uplay account, I hate the bloat of having to create 100 different accounts for 100 different services, and after installing and launching the game the first time having the "you need to install uplay and make an account" instead of going straight to the game annoyed me as hell.
So much I instaquitted uplay, so I didn't launch fc3bd, but steam kept thinking I was in the game and I couldn't launch any other game and I couldn't exit from steam, and my only option was to reboot my pc.
All this for a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ useless overhead service.
And now I read that if I register for the first time on a network I can't play the game on the same pc but on a different network? Are you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ kidding me?
what? does that even make sense to you? did you get pc and network swapped around? and what networks are you talking about? i don't get what you're trying to say here.
I haven't had the occasion to verify if it's true, but if it is, that's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid.
