Will my ATI Radeon HD 4670 256 MB be good enough for this game?
I really want to get this game as soon as the Mac version gets updated, but need to make sure this will work on my Mac. My Mac meets all the other requirments listed as far as I can tell. Not sure if the ATI Radeon HD 4670 supports Shader 3.0.

HD 4670 is pretty old and slow graphics card. I'm personally not recommend you to buy it, at least now.

May be some person who own Mac might give you some better feedback on performance.
i think it would be enough.
I would be more concerned about your CPU and RAM. Most RTS games have a heavy load on the CPU due to pathfinding calculations and PA is incredibly RAM hungry, it may actually be the most RAM intensive game in existence at this point in time.
Actually PA is not CPU-intensive because client don't need to simulate anything at this point. Everything simulated on server (currently only on developers server).

But yeah for this game it's good idea to have 6-8GB RAM.
I hadn't accounted for the client-server model. I wonder if we're doing client side simulation to eleviate lag symptoms though...

Still, once the game comes out, to play it single player you'll need to do all the pathing and calculations on your own computer. At that point it will be cpu intensive.
Nope, there is no client-side simulation at all atm.

Obviously for offline play simulation will be done locally, but for multiplayer I sure there will be enought servers to play. :)
So it would seem that I should just upgrade my RAM and I can have a decent experience? I only have 4 GB of RAM now.

Will this info help

Yes, if you can do so easily, I would reccomend upgrading your RAM.
They're optimising it more and more every day but I've seen it pull +10GB of RAM in larger maps.
I'm not entirely sure wether this is just because I have the RAM spare or not, perhaps somebody with less RAM available could shed some light on how the game deals with it?
I run it with 4GB RAM and an Radeon 4800 and I can play PA but only on smaller maps with no more than 4 players.....though it has gotten better over the last few weeks with some fixes from the devs

I really want to get to 8GB RAM soon though, as that is really what is holding me back..... a small game can get well over 3GB RAM use from PA alone.....it hear it can get to near 10GB RAM use on huge maps with 5 planets and 8+ players heh....but they plan on fixing that
