[UBER Thread] Pricing and the Kickstarter
Our pricing for this stage of early access was determined by our Kickstarter. The stages of our early access for ALL users, which was determined during our Kickstarter, is:

June through August: $90 for early alpha access, during the time where we're still locking down features and making tweaks to the flow of the game. Clarification: this is a permanent access - Alpha, beta and retail. (Galactic edition equivalent with all the listed packins)

September through November: $60 for beta access. The game will be much more complete at this time, but with a lot of balance work still to do and more optimizations to get it working on as many systems as possible. Again, permanent access: beta and retail. (Warfare Edition equivalent with all addons)

Retail: December 2013 (Combat edition equivalent)

This is the pricing determined over a year ago. Our Kickstarter set these levels, and while we understand people may not like it, it's the decision we had to make.

But that is the schedule if you want to wait until the price drops to a level you're more comfortable with.

Thanks,
Garat / Marc Scattergood

No one is forcing anyone to buy an unfinished game. However, if you want to get into the game today, you can put up the money. Or, you can wait, like most people, until the game is closer to release and pay the normal price for a game.

Fair play Garat, however my 12 year old son was looking forward to this game and he has just now assured me that due to the crazy price for an alpha that he has no intention of buying your game at any time in the future. Shame really as he was looking forward to it.

Cheers Danny..

I dont think it is a reason to pay 80 euros for the game.

This is retarded.I was looking forward to this game, but I'm not giving any money to people who exploit shoddy business models. Not to mention even 60$ is insane for a game like this.

Why pricing on kickstarter is the same on steam. Steam isnt any form of kickstarter. You should stress that version on steam is kinda special. Besides since when 60 $ = 83€ ?
Besides why should ppl pay for testing game this money lets take for example arma it s only 23 €.

This may be one of the biggest epic fails in gaming.I guess there are dirty indy devs too. There isn't even any information about this on the store page.Nice job.

I think even the final price is to much for this game. When this game will be done it will be just as expensive as some of the best games ever created, and I don't this game will be quite at that level even.

Arma 3 was £19 for the alpha and you got the game free on release so why is this so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ high???
Xargothraxas Jun 13, 2013 @ 10:50am
You could take out the stupid digital artbook that nobody cares about and lower the price. And make a differant category one with the art book for $90 (or heck even make that the collectors edition or your store/backers only,) and one without for like $69 or something.

but you say $90....well i see the Euro price....and that would be around $110 isnt that a little too much....thats not fair. Even if $90 still is way too much to pay. You lost a client with this....for me the game is dead.

Love how first kickstarter developers whined that publishers take away their creative freedom but then start to sell ALPHA access for a game with bigger pricetag than AAA games with all DLC combined.

This company did one thing right: I have never seen a steam game's forum explode quite as quickly as this one's did lol

Hi there Garat, how much will the final product cost, you forgot to mention that.

I can "somewhat" understand the reasoning behind it, and i would LOVE to buy this already, but alas it is to expensive in my opinion.

Also: Bad global economy->pricey early acces game-> few testers/"pre-sales"

Releasing it on Steam this early was a mistake. It's a WIP that was meant for those who preordered, and should have been kept that way till you could release at a mangeable price. Hell, even 60 for a beta is ridiculous.

You guys might want to rethink your "DRM Free" feature as you just guaranteed that your product is going to be pirated to the nth degree...not supporting that...just saying...
