Perhaps for you. I can run it and I'm enjoying as are many other people.
And you paid for Beta access on a game that had countless interviews, videos, pictures....
For you.
Well.. that isn't true. You paid for it so that could be considered a subscription.
So... buying a beta that features all the things that they said it did, where they are working on all the things they said they plan to include, that looks EXACTLY like the ALL the video footage and stills that they have supplied is.... FALSE ADVERTISING?
HA HA HA (It is such a shame that the written word simply cannot convey just how mocking the laughter I aim in your general direction actually is. LOL
As for the UI, yes it's annoying that you can't (for example) delete something from the middle of a build queue like in Supcom, but this is because it's not finished. There are incremental improvements happening all the time, the new area commands are excellent and I don't believe that devs will leave it with an inferior UI to SupCom.
Planet navigation is a little unwieldy but I've found you get used to it. I use a combination of arrow keys and pressing the middle mouse button (depending on if I need my other hand for pressing shift). It has become second nature to me and I would think anyone else would find the same. For jumping between planets you can press the comma key, There is also a mod available that puts planet icons up in the top corner so that you can just click whichever planet you want to go to, find it here: https://forums.uberent.com/threads/rel-better-system-view-55089.52922/
LOL i love some of your responses. I havent played this game but I find the forums entertaining. "For you."
nicely said! not mutch to add to this that you already said
As for complaining about the aesthetic...then why did you buy the game? You're talking like your input about it is totally objective, but *I* and many other people, don't have issue with the aesthetic of the game. So, if you already looked into what the game LOOKS like BEFORE you bought it, and you KNEW you wouldn't like it, then why did you buy the game? Did you think the devs were just gonna be like: "Oh let's make an entirely seperate set of realistic models for people who don't like the current ones. Let's just spend a few hundred hours more game dev time on that". Yeah, no. Did you know, that game development costs MONEY? Like, alot, of money? Like millions upon millions of dollars? And did you know, that one of the most EXPENSIVE parts of game development, is modeling a 3D world? It's kind of complicated, and that makes it cost kind of alot of money. So, when you are a SMALL development team, with not a huge budget, whom is going to make a game that's potentially process intensive involving potentially THOUSANDS of units...what do you NOT, do? You do NOT make hugely complex models that cost lots and lots of money and dev time to create, and are painfully expensive for system resources to handle.
I know it's kind of hard for you to grasp the realities of game development, and that you are used to just buying a finished product that was published by a company with a predefined budget, but these are the realities of game creation. There are limitations, there are things which you cannot do, and simply telling the game devs to do things bigger, and flashier when their are limits on both time and money, well, I hate to tell you: you're going to be disappointed. Meanwhile, the rest of us who came in here knowing what we were buying, and knowing it's what we wanted, are perfectly content thus far.
devs wanted to put players in the mood to 'annihilate planets'.
The game fails so far to put me in any kind of mood at all, other than uninstalling it. The factors contributing to this effect are outlined in my original post.
This isn't 'annihilate planets' game, this is 'we have no aesthetics and no optimization and no real gameplay vector except for players' ability to hit planets with moons' game.
Now, I could theoretically believe graphics would be improved and factions would be improved and gameplay would gain a multi-vector model... were it a sprite game like Xenonauts, where the complete re-work of the interface and some visuals boosted playability by like 70%.
In a game with 3D assets I conclude that the soapblock graphics with zero aesthetic value is here to stay. As are the absolutely similar units produced by vehicle, ground AND air factories, gameplay-wise.
