Lag in Single Player Galactic War
I read a comment from a dev that once the game was release the SP Lag would go away. Lag is horrid still....any fixes?

First you need to figure out wich kind of Lag:
Server, FPS or Internet. You can use Crtl+P to get statistics for FPS, Graphics and the server/simulation speed.

I give it a 90% propability the launch data was choosen/demaned by Steam. Uber sees the issues themself.

Really big systems or a lot's of unit can slow down the simulation regardless of what they do. it is just such a big scale game that you can overload *every* hardware with it.

Yeah, I've heard that if you leave the AI in single player to a planet, it'll try to win the game by killing your computer.
Frankly, I haven't dealt with this because I usually end up nuking blindly nuking their Commander by a stroke of luck and winning the game with a small amount of lag when i do nuke them.

60 fps . 16 msec, update is 900. I experience the lag from get go. When bot lands on plannet. My computer is an ASUS from Xtopic custom built can run Ghost on full graphics so not sure what the problem is...

This is true, but I doubt it tries to win by killing your 'pooter.

It's just a side effect of the AI's "SMOKE BOMBERS ERRY DAY" coding. (Seriously. AIs can't stop spamming the damn things. I've lasted an hour against one, and when I finally found him his entire base was just a mass of 200-400 bombers, maybe even more.)

The AI truly loves airforce. With allied AI's you can see air factory is the first thing it builds! (I go for vehicles first).
I think the cases where the AI get's stuck or never goes to T2 are cases where it lacks the air factories and just goes panic.
Would explain why my GW support commander is more "meh" then usual on my hard game.

And playing against a hard AI in GW without air factories is ... difficulty. Mostly I try to contain them and hold out till I can nuke sniper their commanders, while hoping they do not nuke snipe me first.

Your GPU has almost nothing to do with the actual performance requirements of PA. Ghosts is a laughable game that's using an engine designed for the Xbox 360. A toaster could run it at max at this point.

It being "custom built" is irrellevent. You need RAM and a good to great CPU to run this at a reasonable spec, and saying you get lag from the start isn't helpful. Are you playing on a single planet system or a dozen planets with 10 AI?

You still gave us no information about the game yo uare trying to play.
"Galactic War" can mean anything from 1 to 7 AI (including possible allied ones) + player.
And systems go from single planet to 7 planet systems. The boss systems in particular can be crowded.

And in all honestly starting with "I read somewher there would be no lag" is not the best way to start a discussion about peformance.
It is just the right amount of vagueness that it could be another one of those "FIX THE LAG!!!!"/"This game sucks" trolling posts.

The link I gave you gives you the followign steps:
Make certain you have all Windows and GPU updates. Especailly secundary cards.
If that does not help give us your Dxdiag.txt.
Often it is somewhere in the details an outdated driver we can spot.

Looks like it is related to server. Not the game itself. Frankly I find it plays very easily in terms of the game engine/environment itself. I had the same impression as the original poster until I found out the hardway about the always on DRM this evening and looked a bit deeper. Have no issues most of the time but when the internet is shoddy I start to notice delay.

Since you need it dumbed down for you and can't assume its the max of the game or anything, I am playing a SINGLE PLAYER GAME, that is, EPIC, and at NORMAL difficulty lvl. As to what I read and where I read it, was a News blog about the game....so trolling? I think not. As to performance, as Dethstarr stated, it is not performance based as to the computer being able to play it. It is server issues. Wow.
