I'm recommend everyone to check some streams before you buy game:
http://www.twitch.tv/directory/game/Planetary Annihilation/videos/week
Starcraft 2, 3 races if you lose all units / buildings you lose your income depends if you have Gas and minrals being harvested you need Supply points to construct units
Plantery Annihilation, 1 race (but the commanders are diffrent races just same units!) if you lose your commander, you are dead, caues that is YOU on the battlefield! You get a fixed income from your commander and a fixed income for metal/energy genraters, they never run out. You do not need supply points you know you reatched the max when your Computer freazes. unlike Starcraft where a marine takes 50 secs to build in 50 secs you have 3 light tanks out, it is very easy to get an army
SC is a much much more faster paste game where macro is everything. If you don't have a good reaction time or have poor reflexes you'll never be able to compete against a decent player. It's also about economy, you have to cripple your opponents ressources while losing as little as possible of your own units and resupplying your losses as fast as possible while trying to defend your own economy. It also uses a rock/paper/scisor system where there is a counter to everything, so scouting is a major part of the game to be able to know what units to make to be one step ahead of your opponent.
PA is a much slower paste where when you get attacked, even if you get spoted first you still have a chance at winning the battle. Everybody has the same units so it's about who can get the biggest army first and march unto the enemy. If you are new to rts I suggest starting with PA as SC is really unforgiving to new comers.
I think you mean "micro" as opposed to "macro".
No... He means macro
