I don't think it's even in beta yet. What does this mean? An extremely incomplete game. Alpha comes before beta testing. It's like buying a car that hasn't been made, trying to get into the car during it's fabrication and getting upset when the car doesn't start as some guy is welding the frame together.
To make things a bit more clear, this is perfectly normal. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_testing
SXX? I have a question about this crash and the server connection. When we host a game is it using your servers for the hosting? Or are we the Host, the server?
I’m concerned about having to use your Uber login as a means of connecting just to play the game. Is your company going to be around in 3 to 5 years from now? You might say yes, but the reality is you don’t know for sure. This is a big concern for me about your game and company since you guys are a startup company.
I’ve seen far too many of these smaller developers go under in less than two years. This is a steam game, I personally do not understand why we even need to login into any of your servers just to host a game. And speaking of hosting games. Your hosting options are very limited; the friends list has to be friends who are a part of the Uber account why are we not able to use the friends list in Steam to invite friends in the game?
Again, concerns about your company’s future is at hand here and if per say your company is not around in 3 to 5 years from now. That’s leaves us all in the dark and unable to play the game because your server will not be around to authenticate anyone.
Do you get my point?
Also keep in mind I'm not developer, but community member who helping them.
When this game officially released server executable will bu bundled with client and you'll able to run game offline or play though LAN/Hamachi/Tunngle/etc: no login required, no DRM, no license keys.
Obviously global online multiplayer will always require UberNet backend and login with proof of purchase.
