UI coherent Host??? why do i have 18 processes of that?
serious ui error keeps me from even going to the esc menu during game, seeing the build bar or even drag selecting.

It's UI crash, but it's completely unrelated with number of UI processes. Track this topic for updates:

It's pretty normal. All in-game UI work just like web browser (e.g Google Chrome) so each part of UI is rendered by separate process.

It's not normal for a game. I'd suggest putting that on the list to fix.

I'm glad there are those out there who feel the same about this UI thing aside from me and my friends. cause it is kinda crazy. the way i look at it the more iterations of a program you have running the more the chances are something is going to go wrong with one of them even if they are all carrying out a single purpose. I can also think of no other RTS or game that really does that. Maybe save GW 2 and a couple MMOs that use a seperate type of web browser for a server browser/list or auction house.

Coherent UI used in PA is based on Chromium Browser (Google Chrome) so it's just works this way and this not going to change. Though depend on UI (HTML/JavaScript part of it) structure there might be different number of processes.

In previous versions most of UI elements was part of one "scene" and there was less processes, but higher UI lag. Now UI split into number of sub-scenes and it's more responsive on most of systems.

This is completely incorrect. Web browsers use separate processes to avoid situation when problem with one of open pages cause crash of every other page and it's works same way in PA.

Unfortunately when devs introduce large changes like this one those usually cause game client instability for some time and only thing you can do it's wait till devs make it stable again.

In PA every piece of UI you see on screen it's web page. Even your cursor texture and strategic icons are rendered by as web page.

At moment even all user input except camera zoom and edge scrolling handled by HTML UI.

wow thats fascinating, good to know its 'normal'

its still a major bug if players lose input control even a little bit. ive had a few times where it didnt register me pressing the shift key and other times that it seemed as if i couldnt deregister the middle mouse button... i was permanently scrolling the planet.

just wanted to submit this to the buglist, cause i LOVE this game. :)

Well, the game isn't even Beta, so...

Also you can just press F5 to restart the entire UI if something goes horribly wrong (like the build list is gone, you're trapped in a spin, etc.).

UI feels terribly laggy to me, now I know why. Chrome.

UI crashes in on developers bug list for sure.

You might want to try it with "--software-ui" as explained in my topic:
